EWE Baskets started with 17-16, but the hosts needed a 13-12 rally for 29:29 at the halftime. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Julius Jenkins fired 17 points for the winners. The other American import guard Rickey Paulding chipped in 12 points. Simons played together with current Tiger Josh Young at Drake. Simons played a total of 123 NCAA games. "He had 2 very good years at Drake. He can shoot very well, can pass, can create for his teammates and has a high basketball IQ. We have him planned for the positions 2-3, because of his size and athletic ability. He has to work hard to play at teh Beko BBL level", stressed Igor Perovic.
