There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most exciting game of round 22 in the ProA took place in Duesseldorf. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of their biggest opponent BG Goettingen (16-6) to third ranked Duesseldorf Baskets (15-7) 60-59 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BG Goettingen. BG Goettingen was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 20-17 charge of Duesseldorf Baskets, which allowed them to win the game. Duesseldorf Baskets shot 19 for 29 from the free-throw line, while BG Goettingen only scored three points from the stripe. Naturalized American forward Adam Waleskowski (204-82, college: Florida St., agency: Three Eye Sports) scored 25 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American center Chris Gadley (207-87, college: Canisius) chipped in 11 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Ramon Harris (201-88, college: Kentucky) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Duesseldorf Baskets maintains third position with 15-7 record having just two points less than leader Vechta. BG Goettingen at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost. Duesseldorf Baskets are looking forward to face BG Karlsruhe (#4) on the road in the next round. BG Goettingen will play against MLP Academics Heidelberg and is hoping to win this game.
ProA top team - SC Rasta Vechta (17-5) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Finke Baskets (9-13) 104-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Finke Baskets. Canadian forward Jacob Doerksen (200-87) notched 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Richard Williams supported him with 11 points and 5 assists. SC Rasta Vechta's coach Patrick Elzie felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 11 points by American forward Ryan Aquino (203-89, college: Georgia Coll.) did not help to save the game for Finke Baskets. Newly promoted SC Rasta Vechta maintains first position with 17-5 record. Finke Baskets at the other side dropped to the twelfth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Crailsheim. SC Rasta Vechta will play against Cuxhaven BasCats (#5) on the road in the next round. Finke Baskets will play against Crailsheim Merlins (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

An interesting game took place in Crailsheim where higher ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (11-11) was upset on the court of fourteenth ranked Crailsheim Merlins (9-13) 82-71 on Saturday. Derek Coleman scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners. Crailsheim Merlins moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Finke Baskets. There were no shocking results in the other games in round 22: Kirchheim lost to Jena on the opponent's court 79-87. Heidelberg outscored Gotha in a home game 84-61. Cuxhaven recorded a loss to ETB Wohnbau on the road 68-75.

Very expected game when 15th ranked Kirchheim Knights (8-14) were defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Science City Jena (10-12) 87-79 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Kirchheim Knights won third quarter 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Science City Jena forced 21 Kirchheim Knights turnovers. Kirchheim Knights were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch.
