Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Germans who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is former international guard Lea Mersch (170-87, currently plays in Czech Republic), who plays in the Czech Republic ZBL. She could not help DSK Karlin (5-18) in their last game. Despite Mersch's good performance the third-placed DSK Karlin was badly defeated 75-59 on the road by the second-ranked Aldast Strakonice in the A3 group. She was the top scorer with 14 points. Mersch also added 4 assists in 24 minutes on the court. This year Mersch averages: 5.9ppg, 3.3rpg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 35.8% and FT: 62.3% in the 22 games she played so far. She played for the German senior national team two years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former international power forward Petra Glaser (196-81, college: Long Beach St., currently plays in Sweden), who plays in the Swedish Damligan. Glaser was not able to help Kvarnby (9-13) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite her very good performance Kvarnby was defeated 82-73 in Lulea by the higher-ranked Northland (#3). Glaser scored 15 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. The Regular Season already ended. Glaser has relatively good stats this season: 13.0ppg, 5.7rpg, 1.8apg, 2FGP: 48.0%, 3FGP: 7.7% and FT: 82.9%. She played for the German national team in 2011.

   #3. The German player who performed third best last week abroad was former U20 international power forward Mara Greunke (185-91, currently plays in Canada). Greunke was not able to secure a victory for the Western Ontario (11-10) in their game against the Laurier (11-10) in the Canadian university league CIS. She recorded only 4 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 18 minutes. The Western Ontario (#4) was edged 59-58 in Waterloo by the Laurier. It was Western Ontario's third consecutive loss in a row. The Regular Season already ended. It's Greunke's first season with the team. This year Greunke's overall stats are: 4.9ppg, 4.2rpg, 2FGP: 51.1% and FT: 66.7% in the 21 games. She played for the German U20 national team three years ago.

   #4. Guard Christiane Fischer (168-90, currently plays in Canada) couldn't help the Manitoba University (14-8) in their game against the Winnipeg (7-15) in the Canadian CIS. Fischer scored 5 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. The Manitoba University (#3) was edged 65-63 in a derby game by the Winnipeg. The Regular Season already ended. Fischer's total stats this season are: 3.6ppg, 3.0rpg, 1.5apg and 1.5spg. She used to play for the German U20 national team back in 2010.

   #5. Former U20 international center Nadine Grieb (184-87, currently plays in Luxembourg), who plays in the Luxembourg Diekirch League couldn't help AB Contern (11-6) in their last game. Despite Grieb's very good performance AB Contern (#3) lost 55-69 in Stadrbredimus to the lower-ranked (#4) Musel Pikes in the Places 1-6 group. She was the second best scorer with 15 points. Grieb also added 9 rebounds and dished 4 assists (went 5 for 5 at the free throw line) in 32 minutes. Grieb is ranked sixth on the list of the top scorers in the league with 18.2ppg. This year she also averages: 9.1rpg, 2.6apg and 1.6spg in the 16 games. Grieb used to play for the German U20 national team six years ago.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has German passport:

   #1. Eva Schonecker (180-G/F-81, currently plays in Luxembourg), who plays in the Luxembourg Diekirch League could not help AB Contern (11-6) to beat Musel Pikes (12-9). She did not beat the league record on Saturday evening. Schonecker scored only 3 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. AB Contern (#3) was defeated 69-55 on the road by the lower-ranked Musel Pikes (#4) in the Places 1-6 group. Schonecker's total stats this season are: 1.7ppg, 2.1rpg and 1.1apg.

American Guard Maegan Conwright (173-G-92) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Chemnitz, receiving a Court Side Player of the Week award for round 18. The 24-year old player was the main contributor (45 points, six rebounds) to her team's victory, helping them to edge out Donau-Ries (6-12) 92-91. 31-year old center Viktoria Krell (183-C-85) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's best team Heidelberg and receives a Court Side 2.Bundesliga Player of the Week award for round 18. She had a double-double of 21 points and 16 rebounds, while her team beat Wuerzburg (#4, 10-5) 68-63. It allowed Heidelberg to consolidate first place in the German league.
