Candace
Williams
American forward Candace Williams (183-F-88) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Chemnitz, receiving a Eurobasket.com 2.Bundesliga Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 24-year old player was the main contributor (34 points, eight rebounds and three assists) to her team's victory, helping them to outclass Hagen Phoenix (#10, 4-13) with 43-point margin 91-48. It allowed Chemnitz to consolidate first place in the German 2.Bundesliga. They maintain perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and Chemnitz keeps perfect 17 -0 record. Williams turned to be Chemnitz's top player in her first season with the team. Former University of New Hampshire star has very solid stats this year. Williams is in league's top in points (5th best: 20.2ppg).

The second best player in last round's games was 22-year old American Diamber Johnson (170-G-90) of Sandhausen. Johnson had a very good evening with 34 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course she lead Sandhausen to another comfortable win outscoring the higher-ranked Keltern (#2, 10-5) 82-58. This victory allowed Sandhausen to move up to 7th position in South. Her team lost some distance to top teams. But 8-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Johnson is one of the most experienced players at Sandhausen and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.9ppg (#3).

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Sarah Acker (191-C) of Bielefeld (#11). Acker showcased her all-around game by recording 12 points, twenty rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. Despite Acker's great performance Bielefeld lost 50-65 to the higher-ranked Quakenbrueck (#8, 8-9). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Bielefeld can only dream about fighting for top spots in North. They have rather bad season and 4-13 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Acker she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Acker has individually a great season in Germany. After 13 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.2rpg (#1 in league). She also has 1.5bpg and FGP: 50.5%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kathrin Wischnitzki (177-G-91) of Neuss - 10 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists
5. Noemie Rouault (180-F-95) of Berlin - 13 points and 20 rebounds
6. Aline Stiller (183-F/C-94) of Gruenberg - 19 points and 11 rebounds
7. Johnette Walker (173-G-87) of Leimen - 13 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists
8. April Bankston) of Wuerzburg - 21 points and 15 rebounds
9. Daniela Vogel (179-F-92) of Berlin - 24 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Shacondra James (172-PG) of Neuss - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
