Dirk Nowitzki's double-double lands him Player of the Week award among Germans playing currently abroad - Feb 27, 2013

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Germans who are currently playing abroad.

Dirk Nowitzki
Dirk Nowitzki
#1. This week's number one is an experienced former international forward Dirk Nowitzki (213-78, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He could not help the Dallas Mavericks (25-31) in their last game. Despite Nowitzki's very good performance the Dallas Mavericks lost 99-103 on the road to the Los Angeles Lakers. He had a double-double by scoring 30 points and getting 13 rebounds. Nowitzki also added and 3 steals in 39 minutes on the court. It's Nowitzki's 15th season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Nowitzki averages: 16.2ppg, 6.7rpg, 2.6apg, 2FGP: 44.1%, 3FGP: 42.9% and FT: 81.9% in the 27 games he played so far. He played for the German senior national team two years ago.

Elias Harris
Elias Harris
#2. Second place goes to an international forward Elias Harris (203-89, currently plays college basketball in the States). He led Gonzaga to an easy victory against the Santa Clara University (8-6) crushing them 85-42 in the NCAA on Wednesday night. Harris scored 17 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 23 minutes. The Gonzaga University has quite an impressive 14-0 conference record this season. So far his team won all fourteen games in the conference. There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Harris is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Gonzaga's roster. He has relatively good stats this season: 13.9ppg, 5.6rpg, 2.7apg, 2FGP: 43.6%, 3FGP: 38.5% and FT: 67.5% in the 34 games. Harris is in the roster of the German senior national team.

Christian Standhardinger
Christian Standhardinger
#3. The German player who performed third best last week abroad was former U20 international forward Christian Standhardinger (203-89, currently studies in the States). He led Hawaii to an easy victory against the Northern Arizona University (7-9) crushing them 84-50 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. Standhardinger scored 21 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. The University of Hawaii has 8-6 conference record this season. There are only three games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This season Standhardinger has relatively solid stats: 13.9ppg, 5.6rpg, 2.7apg, 2FGP: 43.6%, 3FGP: 38.5% and FT: 67.5%. He has a dual citizenship: Filipino and German. Standhardinger played for the German U20 national team four years ago.

Chris Kaman
Chris Kaman
#4. Center Chris Kaman (213-82, college: Cent.Michigan, currently plays in NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Dirk Nowitzki and both played together in the last NBA game. Kaman was not able to help the Dallas Mavericks (25-31) in their game against the Los Angeles Lakers (28-30). He recorded only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. The Dallas Mavericks were defeated 103-99 in Los Angeles by the Lakers. It's Kaman's first season with the team. This year Kaman has very high stats. He averages: 12.2ppg and 6.1rpg. Kaman is a naturalized American. He used to play for the German national team back in 2011. Strangely Kaman has never played in Germany.

Dennis Ogbe
Dennis Ogbe
   #5.
