The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute susprises and upsets. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position, extra overtimes, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

ProA round 25 caused change at the leadership position. Seventh defeat of league's leader SC Rasta Vechta (18-7) against eighth ranked Science City Jena (13-12) 94-83 was the most important game of the last round. The game was mostly controlled by Science City Jena. SC Rasta Vechta managed to win third quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Science City Jena won last quarter 27-17. They made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by SC Rasta Vechta helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Kenny Barker (191-86, college: Alaska-Anch.) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Kevin Wysocki (198-87) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Richard Williams (178-87, college: San Diego St.) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds for SC Rasta Vechta. Science City Jena have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Chemnitz and Ehingen. Newly promoted SC Rasta Vechta dropped to the second position with seven games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Goettingen. SC Rasta Vechta will play next round against ETB Wohnbau trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Science City Jena will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Crailsheim Merlins on the road.
Important game to mention about took place in Karlsruhe. Second ranked BG Goettingen (19-6) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked BG Karlsruhe (15-10) 76-74 on Saturday evening. British swingman Paul Guede (195-87, college: Portland St., agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 12 points for the winners and Akeem Vargas chipped in 9 points. BG Goettingen's coach Johannes Roijakkers allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side American point guard Michael Stockton (185-89, college: Westminster, UT, agency: Limelight Hoops) responded with 9 points and 7 rebounds. BG Goettingen have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. BG Karlsruhe at the other side dropped to the fourth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Cuxhaven. BG Goettingen will play against NBC (#9) in Nurnberg in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BG Karlsruhe will play at home against Oettinger Rockets Gotha (#15) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Duesseldorf Baskets (17-8) against seventh ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (13-12) on Saturday night. Visiting Duesseldorf Baskets were defeated by BV Chemnitz 99 in a tough game in Chemnitz 67-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Duesseldorf Baskets. Jorge Schmidt nailed 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Adam Waleskowski came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds for Duesseldorf Baskets in the defeat. Duesseldorf Baskets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BV Chemnitz 99 moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Jena and Ehingen. Loser Duesseldorf Baskets keep the third position with eight games lost. BV Chemnitz 99 will meet MLP Academics Heidelberg (#10) on the road in the next round.
