Kevin Smit
Talented Kevin Smit (183-PG-91) put on an amazing game in the last round for Oldenburg and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com ProB Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 21-year old playmaker had the game-high 31 points adding nine rebounds and six assists for Oldenburg in his team's victory, helping them to beat Recklinghausen (#5, 11-11) 95-85. Oldenburg maintains the 4th position in German ProB. Oldenburg is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 12-10 record. In the team's last game Smit had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Oldenburg's top player in his first season with the team. Kevin Smit averages this season 13.6ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old American center Blake Poole (195-C-88) of Dorsten. Poole impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 20 points and 20 rebounds. It was enough for Dorsten to edge Wulfen (9-13) in overtime by 1 point 75-74. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the top position in North. But Dorsten managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 10th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 9-13 record. Poole is a newcomer at Dorsten and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Andrew Jones (191-SG-83) of Dresden (#10). Jones got into 30-points club by scoring 38 points in the last round. He went also for five assists. He was a key player of Dresden, leading his team to a 88-80 win against the higher-ranked Fraport SKY II (#7, 11-11). The chances of Dresden not to end season at such low position in South, however are less than slim as they have already lost 14 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Jones could try to bring Dresden's a little bit higher in the standings. Jones has individually a great season in Germany. After 22 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 3.5apg (best passer). Jones attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Taylor Brown (198-F-89) of Fraport SKY II - 28 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Michael Fakuade (201-F-89) of Hannover - 21 points and 13 rebounds
6. Richard Froehlich (206-C-86) of Leitershofen - 19 points and 11 rebounds
7. Chad Gray (200-F-85) of Noerdlingen - 32 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
