American forward Nate Linhart (201-F-86, agency: LUMANI 10.7) had an amazing evening in the last round for TBB Trier, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 26. The 26-year old player was the main contributor (27 points, nine rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to edge out Telekom Baskets (#7, 13-12) 70-68. TBB Trier is placed at 9th position in German BBL. TBB Trier is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 12-13 record. In the team's last game Linhart had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. It's his second year at TBB Trier and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Nate Linhart averages this season 11.8ppg and 6.2rpg. Worth to mention Linhart played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.
The second best player in last round's games was 24-year old Icelandic Hoerdur Vilhjalmsson (194-PG-88) of MBC. Vilhjalmsson had a very good evening with a double-double of 16 points and 10 assists. Of course he lead MBC to another comfortable win 89-76 over the lower-ranked LTi 46ers (#18, 4-21) being unquestionably team leader. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But MBC managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 13th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 11-15 record. Vilhjalmsson is well-known at MBC and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.
Third on the list of top players last round was American swingman Matt Walsh (197-F/G-82) of league's top team Brose Bask.. Walsh showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, ten rebounds and four assists in the last round. Despite Walsh's great performance Brose Bask. lost 97-104 to the lower-ranked Phoenix Hagen (#10, 12-13). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Brose Bask. had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 4th lost game is hopefully really an accident. Walsh's teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Walsh has a very solid season. In 3 games in Germany he scored 13.0ppg.
