Dirk Nowitzki's double-double lands him Player of the Week award among Germans playing currently abroad - Mar 13, 2013

Here is the weekly review of the top performing German players, who play currently abroad.

Dirk Nowitzki
Dirk Nowitzki
#1. This week's number one is an experienced former international forward Dirk Nowitzki (213-78, currently plays in NBA). He was the major contributor in a Dallas Mavericks' victory against the Milwaukee Bucks (32-30) 115-108 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game. Nowitzki had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 3 assists in 31 minutes on the court. The Dallas Mavericks have 30-33 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. It's Nowitzki's 15th year with the team. Nowitzki has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 16.0ppg, 6.7rpg, 2.5apg, 2FGP: 45.7%, 3FGP: 40.9% and FT: 83.6% in the 34 games he played so far. Nowitzki played for the German senior national team two years ago.

Tibor Pleiss
Tibor Pleiss
#2. Second place goes to an international center Tibor Pleiss (215-89, currently plays in Euroleague). He led his Spanish team Caja Laboral to a victory against the eighth-ranked Besiktas (0-10) 83-73 in the Euroleague last Friday. Pleiss recorded 15 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks. Caja Laboral Vitoria (5-5) is placed sixth in group F. They ended the series of five consecutive loses. There are only four games left until the end of the Euroleague Top 16. So now every game will be critical. It's Pleiss' first season with the team. His overall stats this year are: 4.5ppg, 3.8rpg, 2FGP: 56.9%(29-51) and FT: 88.9%. Pleiss is in the roster of the German senior national team.

Chris Kaman
Chris Kaman
#3. The German player who performed third best last week abroad was former international center Chris Kaman (213-82, college: Cent.Michigan, currently plays in NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Dirk Nowitzki. But that was another game of his team in NBA which we would like to mention. Kaman contributed to a 3-point Dallas Mavericks' victory against the Detroit Pistons (23-43) 102-99. He recorded 10 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists in 15 minutes. The Dallas Mavericks have 30-33 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Kaman has very impressive stats this year: 11.4ppg, 5.9rpg, 2FGP: 50.7% and FT: 78.8% in the 49 games. He is a naturalized American. Kaman played for the German national team two years ago. Strangely he has never played in Germany.
