The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets.

The most important game in the last round took place in Osnabruck between third ranked TG Neuss (12-6) and fourth ranked Osnabruck SC (13-5) on Sunday night. TG Neuss were defeated by Osnabruck SC on the road 62-73. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Osnabruck SC forced 26 TG Neuss turnovers. 31 personal fouls committed by TG Neuss helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard N'Dea Bryant (183-94, college: N.Carolina) who led her team to a victory with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Swedish forward Mikaela Gustafsson (188-93, college: Maine) contributed with 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American guard Dara Taylor (173-91, college: Penn St.) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds for TG Neuss. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Osnabruck SC have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in North. TG Neuss at the other side dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Osnabruck SC are looking forward to face league's leader Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. TG Neuss will play against Braunschweig and are hoping to win this game.
An interesting game for BasCats Heidelberg (16-1) which hosted in Heidelberg 3rd ranked Ladybaskets Wuerzburg (10-5). First ranked BasCats Heidelberg managed to get a 5-point victory 68-63. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Ladybaskets Wuerzburg. Center Viktoria Krell (183-85, college: Lindsey Wilson) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Erica Carlson chipped in 5 points, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks during the contest. BasCats Heidelberg's coach Dennis Czygan allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Canadian guard Stephanie Kleysen (178, college: Winnipeg) with 17 points and 8 rebounds. BasCats Heidelberg have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position in South with 16-1 record. Ladybaskets Wuerzburg at the other side dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. BasCats Heidelberg will play against Speyer / Schifferstadt (#6) in Dudenhofen in the next round where they are favorite. Ladybaskets Wuerzburg will play on the road against the league's second-placed Don Bosco Bamberg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
2. Bundesliga top team - Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (16-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Barmer TV (2-16) in Wuppertal 75-56. Alli Gloyd notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 14 points by Franziska Goessmann did not help to save the game for Barmer TV. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in North with 16-2 record. Barmer TV lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 16 games lost. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel will meet at home Osnabruck SC (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Barmer TV will play against TuSLi Berlin (#9) in Lichterfelde and hope to secure a win.
The game in Gruenberg was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Krofdorf/Gleib. (10-8) played at the court of 6th ranked Baskets Grunberg (8-10). Krofdorf/Gleib. managed to secure a 5-point victory 73-68. The best player for the winners was Chelsea Small who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists. Newly promoted Krofdorf/Gleib. maintains fifth position in North with 10-8 record. Baskets Grunberg at the other side keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. Krofdorf/Gleib.'s next round opponent will be Osnabruecker (#10) at home where they are favorite. Baskets Grunberg will play against the league's second-placed Goettingen (#2) and hope to win that game.
The game in Langen was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Homburger TG (11-5) played at the court of 5th ranked Rhein Main Baskets (9-7). Homburger TG managed to secure a 7-point victory 71-64 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Rhein Main Baskets. It was a good game for Celia Marfone who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. Homburger TG's coach Jay Brown used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Homburger TG moved-up to third place in South. Loser Rhein Main Baskets keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Homburger TG will face Weiterstadt (#7) at home in the next round. Rhein Main Baskets will play against Ladybaskets Wuerzburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 18:
In North Goettingen smashed Braunschweig on the road 74-51. Opladen lost to TuSLi Berlin on its own court 59-69. B.Loewen was outscored by Osnabruecker TB in a road game 50-71.
In South Weiterstadt recorded a loss to Wasserburg II at home 63-71. Mainz was crushed by Jahn Muenchen on the opponent's court 68-47. Bamberg smashed Keltern II in a home game 87-65.

North
Gruenberg - Krofdorf/Gleib. 68-73

The game in Gruenberg was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Krofdorf/Gleib. (10-8) played at the court of 6th ranked Baskets Grunberg (8-10). Krofdorf/Gleib. managed to secure a 5-point victory 73-68. The guests were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 19-13 Baskets Grunberg's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 73-68 at the end of the game. Krofdorf/Gleib. had a 29-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Chelsea Small (185, college: Indiana St.) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import guard Erin Bratcher (175-92, college: Charleston So.) chipped in 32 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Sarah Olson (173-93, college: Monmouth) who recorded 25 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Isabell Meinhart (178-94) added 16 points and 6 assists respectively. No shocking result in a game when second ranked Goettingen (15-3) crushed on the road 11th ranked Braunschweig (3-15) 74-51 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Goettingen. Braunschweig was better in fourth quarter 17-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for Czech guard Katarina Flasarova (171-85) who led her team to a victory with 15 points and 5 assists. American swingman Alissa Pierce (177-86) contributed with 8 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American guard Felicia Barron (170-90, college: Quinnipiac) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and her fellow American import forward Alayshia Hunter (185-93, college: La-Monroe) added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Braunschweig. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Barmer TV's 32. American forward Alli Gloyd (185-92, college: Arizona) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Alysha Womack (170-91, college: Monmouth) supported her with 24 points and 5 rebounds. Even 14 points by point guard Franziska Goessmann (170-89) did not help to save the game for Barmer TV. Slovakian Michaela Stankova (173-88) added 11 points and 6 rebounds. SG BBZ Opladen was better in third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding SG BBZ Opladen to just 4 points in fourth quarter. It was a good game for center Nyara Sabally (185-0) who led her team to a victory with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Annalena Blume (180-96) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. B.Loewen was better in third quarter 20-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Osnabruecker forced 23 B.Loewen turnovers. It was a good game for American guard Elizabeth Belanger (178-94, college: New Hampshire) who led her team to a victory with 26 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Janina Wellers (180-88) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American Ja'Nee Morton (175) replied with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and her fellow American import center Catrina Green (188-92, college: Gardner-Webb) added 8 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for B.Loewen. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Osnabruecker maintains tenth position in North with 6-12 record. B.Loewen lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 11 games lost. The game in Langen was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Homburger TG (11-5) played at the court of 5th ranked Rhein Main Baskets (9-7). Homburger TG managed to secure a 7-point victory 71-64 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Rhein Main Baskets. Rhein Main Baskets trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 23-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 64-71 at the end of the game. It was a good game for American forward Celia Marfone (183-94, college: Cal-Davis) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. The other American import point guard Elena Popkey (168-94, college: Oakland) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Homburger TG's coach Jay Brown used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Lyndi Laborn replied with 17 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Nelli Dietrich (169-89) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Rhein Main Baskets. Four Rhein Main Baskets players scored in double figures. Homburger TG moved-up to third place in South. Loser Rhein Main Baskets keep the fifth position with seven games lost. It was a good game for American point guard Cassie Peoples (168-92, college: Florida) who led her team to a victory with 33 points (!!!), 5 assists and 4 steals. The other American import forward Liz Wood (178-93, college: Maine) contributed with 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Forward Kristin Annawald (184-93) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and guard Christina Krick (169) added 20 points and 4 assists in the effort for Weiterstadt. Wolfpack parts ways with Raus - 21 hours ago
Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel announced on Saturday that Christian Raus won't be any longer the Headcoach. Raus' first year as headcoach of a womens team seemed not to work for both parties as they decided to part ways. Currently will take over Frank Lagerpusch, assisted by Ruediger Jacob until a new coach has been found. Jacob has assisted the past few years and knows the team.
