The game between Top Four teams took place in Herne. 4th ranked host Herner TC (10-8) lost to second ranked TSV 1880 Wasserburg (16-2) 85-71. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Herner TC. The game was mostly controlled by TSV 1880 Wasserburg. Herner TC was better in fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TSV 1880 Wasserburg made 20-of-22 charity shots (90.9 percent) during the game. American forward Rebecca Tobin (195-88, college: Arizona St.) notched 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and French forward Soana Lucet (185-87, college: Arizona, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four TSV 1880 Wasserburg players scored in double figures. Even 24 points and 5 assists by American point guard Haiden Palmer (173-91, college: Gonzaga) did not help to save the game for Herner TC. The former international power forward Sonja Greinacher (188-92, college: Gonzaga) added 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TSV 1880 Wasserburg have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Herner TC at the other side dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost. TSV 1880 Wasserburg will play against TV Saarlouis Royals (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Herner TC will play against BC Pharmaserv Marburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
