Here is the weekly review of the top performing German players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international small forward Margret Skuballa (186-87, currently plays in France). She led Nantes Reze to a victory over one of league's weakest teams Lyon (4-15) crushing them 87-59 in the French LFB in Friday night's game. Skuballa was MVP of the game. She recorded 22 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in 31 minutes on the court. Nantes Reze Basket (10-9) is placed fifth in the LFB. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Skuballa has relatively good stats this year: 14.2ppg, 7.6rpg, 2.4apg, 2FGP: 51.9%, 3FGP: 42.3% and FT: 93.2%(55-59) in 18 games she played so far. Ex-BC Marburg player is currently a member of the German senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international forward Romy Baer (187-87, currently plays in France). She contributed to a 3-point Nice's victory against the fourth-ranked Basket Landes (13-6) 58-55 in the French LFB last Saturday. Baer recorded 10 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Cavigal Nice Basket 06 (8-11) is placed ninth in the LFB. They ended the series of six consecutive loses. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This season Baer has relatively solid stats: 10.9ppg, 4.8rpg, 4.8apg, 1.8spg, 2FGP: 50.9%, 3FGP: 35.7% and FT: 75.4%. She is in the roster of the German senior national team.

   #3. The German player who performed third best last week abroad was former U20 international center Marie Gulich (196-94, currently plays college basketball in the States). Gulich contributed to an easy victory against the University of California (5-8) 71-56 in the NCAA on Sunday night. She scored 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 27 minutes. The Oregon State University has not so impressive 0-12 conference record this season. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. This year Gulich averages: 9.9ppg, 7.9rpg, 1.9apg, 1.7bpg, 2FGP: 48.6% and FT: 66.2% in 30 games. She played for the German U20 national team three years ago.

Point guard Svenja Brunckhorst (179-91, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a Cadi La Seu's victory against the 12th-ranked Zamarat (6-15) 72-64 in the Spanish LFB in Wednesday night's game. Brunckhorst scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Cadi La Seu D'urgell (10-11) is placed seventh in the LFB. Brunckhorst's overall stats this season are: 5.3ppg, 3.1rpg, 2.0apg and 1.1spg. She is also German national team player.

International center Lisa Koop (197-85, college: Winthrop, currently plays in France) was the major contributor in a Bretagne Basket's victory against the closely-ranked Reims (11-8) 63-56 in the French LF2 (second division) on Saturday night. She recorded 12 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Landerneau Bretagne Basket (13-6) is placed third in the LF2. Koop's overall stats this season are: 6.6ppg and 5.8rpg. She plays currently for the German national team.

   #6. Guard Lena Wenke (180-96, currently plays in Canada) helped University of Winnipeg win their game against the Vikes (13-9) 82-70 in the Canadian university league CIS in Thursday night's game. Wenke recorded 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 29 minutes. The University of Winnipeg has a very solid 19-3 record this season. Her team will play only one more game in the Conferences Tournaments. And now that game is quite important. This year Wenke's overall stats are: 8.4ppg and 2.9rpg in 23 games. She is U20 international player who is currently on the German National Team roster.

Former U18 international forward Patricia Brossmann (183-97, currently studies in the States) helped San Diego win their game against the University of Portland (3-10) 72-54 in the NCAA on Saturday night. She scored 7 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 22 minutes. The University of San Diego has rather weak 4-9 conference record this season. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. It's Brossmann's first year with the team. This season Brossmann's total stats are: 4.8ppg and 5.0rpg in 26 games. She used to play for the German U18 national team two years ago.

   #8. Guard Emma Stach (175-96, is currently at the American university) helped Gonzaga win their game against the University of San Diego (5-9) 62-57 in the NCAA in Thursday night's game. Stach scored 8 points. The Gonzaga University has quite an impressive 14-0 conference record this season. So far her team won all fourteen games in the conference. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Stach has averaged so far 5.9ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.2apg. She plays currently for the German U20 national team.

Former international center Ama Degbeon (188-95, currently plays college basketball in the States) managed to help Florida State University to win against the University of Pittsburgh (3-10) crushing them 79-48 in the NCAA on Thursday night. She scored only 2 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. The Florida State University has a solid 9-4 conference record this season. It was her team's tenth consecutive victory in a row. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Degbeon has averaged so far 3.9ppg and 2.1rpg. She used to play for the German national team four years ago.

   #10. Guard Paulina Koerner (175-96, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Columbia (4-4) to beat the University of Pennsylvania (7-0). Koerner scored 7 points in 32 minutes. The Columbia lost 59-68 at home to the University of Pennsylvania. There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. Koerner has averaged so far 8.0ppg, 3.4rpg and 2.6apg in 25 games. She is U20 international player who is currently on the German National Team roster.

   #11. U18 international shooting guard Britta Daub (177-99, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Houston Baptist win their game against the McNeese State University 72-68 in the NCAA on Wednesday night. She scored only 3 points and blocked 2 blocks in 31 minutes. Daub has averaged so far 3.7ppg and 1.7rpg in 18 games. She plays currently for the German U18 national team.


The list of other players, who all have German passport but never been selected to any of German national teams:

   #1. Moran Sapir (168-PG-95, currently plays in Israel) contributed to an easy victory against the third-ranked Bnot Hertzeliya (11-7) 79-64 in the Israeli D1 last Monday. Sapir scored 8 points, made 3 passes and 3 steals in 35 minutes. Elitzur Maclaren Holon (7-11) is placed fifth in Places 1-6 group. There are only three games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. It's Sapir's first season with the team. This year she averages only 1.1ppg in 16 games she played so far. Sapir has a dual citizenship: German and Israeli. Despite her German passport, Sapir previously played for the Israeli U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the German team.

   #2. Anna Lappenkuper (173-G, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the IPFW (4-3) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Lappenkuper's good performance the IPFW was crushed 77-51 at home by the Western Illinois University. She scored 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Lappenkuper's total stats this season are: 6.8ppg, 2.5rpg and 1.4apg.

   #3. Anneke Schlueter (183-G, currently studies in the States) was not able to help the Bradley in their game against the Southern Illinois University (6-6) in the NCAA. Schlueter scored 5 points and added 4 assists in 24 minutes. The Bradley lost 63-69 on their home court in Peoria to the Southern Illinois University. There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. Schlueter has reliable stats this year: 10.3ppg, 2.5rpg and 2.2apg in 24 games.

   #4. Andrea Kohlhaas (180-G, is currently at the American university) was not able to secure a victory for the San Jose St. (6-6) in their game against the The University of Nevada (3-9) in the NCAA. Kohlhaas cannot count Tuesday's game as one of the best ones. She scored only 3 points. The San Jose St. was crushed 108-85 on their home court in San Jose by the The University of Nevada. Kohlhaas' team will play only one more game in the NCAA Regular Season. Kohlhaas has averaged so far 3.1ppg and 1.8rpg.

Here is the weekly review of the top performing German players, who play currently abroad. This week's number one is an international forward Romy Baer (187-87). She could not help Lattes Montpellier (0-2) in their last game. Despite Baer's good performance the seventh-placed Lattes Montpellier (0-2) was crushed 80-56 on the road by the second-ranked Yakin Dogu BGD in the group B of Euroleague.    [read more]

American Power forward Khadijah Shumpert (188-F/C-93) had a very impressive game in the last round for Halle, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 5. The 24-year old player had a double-double of 33 points and 13 rebounds, while her team Halle moved-up to the 10th position in German DBBL. Forward Kirsten Gaffney (185-F) had a great game in the last round for Freiburg, receiving a Eurobasket.com 2.Bundesliga Player of the Week award for round 4. The player had a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds, while her team crushed Krofdorf/Gleib. (#7, 2-2) with 25-point margin 79-54. Freiburg is placed at 3rd position in their group in German 2.Bundesliga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season.
