Saarlouis topped Herner for the opening win. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-17. But Herner TC won second period 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Portia Durrett (185-92, college: Oklahoma) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Dutch swingman Jamailah Adams (180-93) contributed with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international power forward Sonja Greinacher (190-92, college: Gonzaga) answered with 17 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Kristi Bellock (185-90, college: Texas A&M) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Herner TC. Herner TC's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.

Wasserburg stormed past Chemnitz to gain 1-0 lead in the series. The game without a history. TSV 1880 Wasserburg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ChemCats Chemnitz to just 6 points in first quarter. TSV 1880 Wasserburg dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to ChemCats Chemnitz's 24 and made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded ChemCats Chemnitz 42-23 including a 29-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. TSV 1880 Wasserburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Pharmaserv Marburg forced 20 Fireballs turnovers. It was a very good performance for American guard Tonisha Baker (173-90, college: Campbell) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 5 rebounds. Wolfpack parts ways with Raus - 3 days ago
Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel announced on Saturday that Christian Raus won't be any longer the Headcoach. Raus' first year as headcoach of a womens team seemed not to work for both parties as they decided to part ways. Currently will take over Frank Lagerpusch, assisted by Ruediger Jacob until a new coach has been found. Jacob has assisted the past few years and knows the team.
