Wasserburg cruised past Saarlouis to take 1-0 lead in the series. The game was mostly controlled by TSV 1880 Wasserburg. TV Saarlouis Royals managed to win fourth quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded TV Saarlouis Royals 41-23 including 19 on the offensive glass. TSV 1880 Wasserburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Rebecca Tobin (195-88, college: Arizona St.) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Her fellow American import point guard Sheylani Peddy (170-88, college: Temple, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 13 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five TSV 1880 Wasserburg players scored in double figures. TSV 1880 Wasserburg's coach Georg Eichler felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Portia Durrett (185-92, college: Oklahoma) answered with 22 points and 8 rebounds and Latvian forward Sabine Niedola (184-91) added 7 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for TV Saarlouis Royals.

Keltern - Marburg 77-60

Keltern pulled ahead in the semis after they fired past Marburg in the opener. The game was mostly controlled by Gruner Stern Keltern. BC Pharmaserv Marburg was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gruner Stern Keltern brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Latvian center Anita Teilane (195-85, agency: LBM Management) stepped up and scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 blocks (on 6-of-6 shooting from the field) for the winners and Serbian Marina Markovic (185-91, agency: ProDep Management) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Gruner Stern Keltern players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Katlyn Yohn (181-91, college: Bradley) responded with 15 points and the other American import guard Tonisha Baker (173-90, college: Campbell) scored 10 points and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
