The Regular Season in ProA just started. The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

Chemnitz defeated Nuernberg at home 82-64. Chemnitz looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Guard Malte Ziegenhagen (198-91, college: Kaiser) fired 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Power forward Robin Lodders (205-94) chipped in 15 points and 10 rebounds. Chemnitz's coach Rodrigo Pastore used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Jonathan Maier (210-92) produced 19 points for lost side. Nuernberg will play next round against Baunach trying to get back on the winning streak. Chemnitz will try to continue on its current victory against Crailsheim Merlins on the road.
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Uni Baskets (0-1) in Paderborn. Hosts were defeated by Crailsheim Merlins (1-0) 83-67. Worth to mention a great performance of Jamaican-American power forward Sherman Gay (201-82, college: Loyola Mary) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Frank Turner contributed with 15 points and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. American guard Devonte Brown (188-92, college: Indiana St.) answered with 24 points and 8 rebounds for Uni Baskets. Uni Baskets' coach Uli Naechster rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Crailsheim Merlins will play against Chemnitz at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Uni Baskets will play against Hamburg (#3) to get more than just one victory in their record.
An interesting game was played in Hanau where Hamburg (#6) beat host White Wings (#7) 70-58 on Saturday evening. Justin Raffington stepped up and scored 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. At the losing side Till-Joscha Joenke responded with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Hamburg will meet at home Uni Baskets (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. White Wings will play against OrangeAcademy (#6) in Ulm and hope to win that game.
Very important is a home loss of Baunach (0-1) against Kirchheim Knights (1-0) on Saturday night. Host Baunach was defeated by Kirchheim Knights in Baunach 87-72. Corban Collins nailed 26 points for the winning side. Kirchheim Knights' next round opponent will be Gladiators (#15) in Trier which should be an easy win for them. Baunach will play on the road against Nuernberg (#14) and hope to win that game.
Important game to mention about took place in Vechta. SC Rasta Vechta (1-0) saved a 3-point victory at home edging Gladiators (0-1) 83-80 on Friday evening. Jannik Freese fired 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. SC Rasta Vechta will face MLP Academics Heidelberg (#4) at home in the next round. Gladiators will play against Kirchheim Knights (#5) and hope to win that game.

Other games of round 1 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
