There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in DBBL.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Herner TC (1-1) in Bad Aibling on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Fireballs (1-1) 62-47. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 33-14 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Fireballs dominated on the defensive end, holding Herner TC to just 5 points in fourth quarter and to 14 points in second half. They outrebounded Herner TC 44-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. American guard Lindsay Sherbert (184, college: Gonzaga) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and French guard Cyrielle Recoura (172-91) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Dutch forward Isabella Slim (183-95, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Fireballs is looking forward to face TH Wohnbau Angels in Noerdlingen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Herner TC will play at home against BasCats Heidelberg (#10) and is hoping to win this game.

American forward Milan Quinn (185-95, college: Wake Forest) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and Brittany Hrynko supported her with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. SV Halle Lions' coach Rene Spandauw allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 20 points and 18 rebounds by Trinidad and Tobago-Vincentian center Verdine Warner (196-92, college: Shaw) did not help to save the game for Goettingen. SV Halle Lions will play against TSV 1880 Wasserburg (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Goettingen will play against Gruner Stern Keltern to get more than just one victory in their record.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 2: Donau-Ries won against Saarlouis on the opponent's court 87-79. Winless Marburg lost to undefeated Keltern in a home game 71-81. Wasserburg managed to beat Heidelberg on the road 72-68.

Bad Aibling - Herner 62-47

Saarlouis - Donau-Ries 79-87

Very expected game when TV Saarlouis Royals (0-2) were defeated at home by TH Wohnbau Angels (2-0) 87-79. It looked good early as TV Saarlouis Royals took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then TH Wohnbau Angels took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 8 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to TV Saarlouis Royals' 34 and made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. TV Saarlouis Royals were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Jennifer Schlott (168-91, college: Utah St., agency: LBM Management) notched 25 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and Canadian forward Kim Pierre-Louis (183-93, college: Massachusetts) supported her with 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Even 19 points and 9 rebounds by Latvian forward Sabine Niedola (184-91) did not help to save the game for TV Saarlouis Royals. Estonian power forward Maaja Bratka (190-92, agency: LBM Management) added 16 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Wolfpack parts ways with Raus - 5 hours ago
Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel announced on Saturday that Christian Raus won't be any longer the Headcoach. Raus' first year as headcoach of a womens team seemed not to work for both parties as they decided to part ways. Currently will take over Frank Lagerpusch, assisted by Ruediger Jacob until a new coach has been found. Jacob has assisted the past few years and knows the team. Under the new coaching duo the Wolfpack won their first game this Sunday against Bender Baskets Grunberg.   [read more]
