Anne Delafosse claims German 2.Bundesliga weekly honour - Oct 4, 2017

Anne
Delafosse
Experienced Former international Shooting guard Anne Delafosse (184-SG-84) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Jahn Muenchen and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com 2.Bundesliga Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 33-year old shooting guard had the game-high 34 points adding six rebounds for Jahn Muenchen in her team's victory, helping them to crush Keltern II (#6, 1-1) with 21-point margin 79-58. It allowed Jahn Muenchen to jump to the first place in the German 2.Bundesliga. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Jahn Muenchen won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Delafosse had a remarkable 69.2% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 8 attempts. She has many years of experience at Jahn Muenchen, through which she has constantly improved. Delafosse has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (3rd best: 24.0ppg) and averages solid 2.5spg,65.0% FGP and 58.3% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was -year old American guard Kelly Hughes (180-G) of Freiburg. Hughes impressed basketball fans with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course she led Freiburg to another comfortable win outscoring Speyer (0-2) 79-48. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Hughes is a newcomer at Freiburg and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.0ppg (#9). She also registered 7.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Cassidy Clark (186-C) of BG 89 Avides (#3). Clark scored 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds. She was a key player of BG 89 Avides, leading her team to a 57-47 win against Osnabruecker TB (#11, 0-2). BG 89 Avides has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Clark also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Clark as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Tori Waldner (196-F/C-93) of Bamberg - 13 points and 15 rebounds
5. Kirsten Gaffney (185-F) of Freiburg - 14 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Jenna Bugiardini (180-F) of Wuerzburg - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Nicola Happel (164-PG-92) of Opladen - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Julia Duggan (185-C) of Neuss - 16 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Celia Marfone (183-F-94) of Gruenberg - 13 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Jana Heinrich (188-F/C-86) of Neuss - 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Romy Baer selected the top German playing abroad in last week's games - 1 day ago
Here is the weekly review of the top performing German players, who play currently abroad. This week's number one is an international forward Romy Baer (187-87). She could not help Lattes Montpellier (0-2) in their last game. Despite Baer's good performance the seventh-placed Lattes Montpellier (0-2) was crushed 80-56 on the road by the second-ranked Yakin Dogu BGD in the group B of Euroleague.    [read more]

German DBBL round 5 best performance: Khadijah Shumpert - 3 days ago
American Power forward Khadijah Shumpert (188-F/C-93) had a very impressive game in the last round for Halle, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 5. The 24-year old player had a double-double of 33 points and 13 rebounds, while her team Halle moved-up to the 10th position in German DBBL. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 4 games and recorded just one victory. Shumpert turned to be Halle's top player in her first s...   [read more]
