There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in 2.Bundesliga. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position, extra overtimes, derby games, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

First defeat of league's leader Eisvogel Freiburg (1-1) against Keltern II (1-1) 91-85 in double-overtime was the most important game of the last round. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 20-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in double-overtime eventually winning that period 12-12. Keltern II dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Eisvogel Freiburg's 46. American forward Jasmine Smith (183, college: San Jose St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Guard Alina Fody (174-90) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Luana Rodefeld (172-97) replied with 38 points (!!!) for Eisvogel Freiburg. Eisvogel Freiburg will play next round against Don Bosco Bamberg trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Keltern II will try to continue on its current victory against Homburger TG on the road.
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of SG BBZ Opladen (1-1) in Leverkusen. Hosts were defeated by TG Neuss (2-0) 83-77. American center Julia Duggan (185, college: Rider) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Briana Williams chipped in 17 points during the contest. Forward Leonie Schuetter (177-98) responded with 29 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). SG BBZ Opladen's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. TG Neuss will play against Baskets Grunberg (#5) in Gruenberg in the next round. SG BBZ Opladen will play on the road against Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel to get more than just one victory in their record.
