Canadian Kim Pierre-Louis (183-F-93) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's leader Donau-Ries and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 24-year old forward had a double-double of 19 points and fourteen rebounds, while her team beat Bad Aibling (#7, 1-2) 69-61. It allowed Donau-Ries to consolidate first place in the German DBBL. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Donau-Ries already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. It's Pierre-Louis' second year at Donau-Ries and it's hard to imagine this team without her. University of Massachusetts graduate has very impressive stats this year. Pierre-Louis is league's best scorer averaging so far 21.7ppg. Pierre-Louis is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 12.0rpg) and averages solid 67.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 29-year old American Rebecca Tobin (195-C/F-88) of Wasserburg. Tobin impressed basketball fans with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course Wasserburg cruised to a 82-74 relatively comfortable win over Halle (1-2). A very good start of the season for her team, which won so far all 3 games without any defeat. Tobin is a newcomer at Wasserburg and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.3ppg (#5). Her other stats are also decent: 12.0rpg and 4.0apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Melissa Jeltema (175-SF-88) of Hannover (#5). Jeltema showcased her all-around game by recording 16 points, ten rebounds and five assists in the last round. Despite Jeltema's great performance Hannover lost 50-71 to Saarlouis (#9, 1-2). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Hannover needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 1 victories and 1 lost games. Jeltema has a great season in Germany. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.0rpg (7th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Tonisha Baker (173-G-90) of Marburg - 13 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Vee Young (186-PF-89) of Heidelberg - 23 points and 8 rebounds
6. Schaquilla Nunn (190-F/C-94) of Keltern - 15 points and 11 rebounds
7. Diana Voynova (192-C/F-88) of Marburg - 16 points and 8 rebounds
8. Agnieszka Fikiel (194-F/C-87) of Keltern - 11 points and 9 rebounds
9. Annika Holopainen (185-F-93) of Wasserburg - 18 points and 8 rebounds
10. Tiffany Jones (190-F-91) of Heidelberg - 17 points and 8 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

German DBBL round 5 best performance: Khadijah Shumpert - 3 days ago
American Power forward Khadijah Shumpert (188-F/C-93) had a very impressive game in the last round for Halle, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 5. The 24-year old player had a double-double of 33 points and 13 rebounds, while her team Halle moved-up to the 10th position in German DBBL. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 4 games and recorded just one victory. Shumpert turned to be Halle's top player in her first s...   [read more]
