The coach of Ilysiakos Kostas Flevarakis spoke about a lot of things regarding his team Ilysiakos Athens the Greek basketball and his career.
From the time you took charge of the team you lost a lot of games in details however it didn't let you down
The time we took charge of Ilysiakos it was looking as a big favorite for relegation, we tried by hard working to improve the situation. The team became more stable, we took big wins, we lost games with big opponents in details and that made us to have better psychology. We are a team with low budget but we try hard with the help of Mr Giaberakis to promote young players in the club while we want also to stay in the first division,.
Even though you had the chance to have higher budget you chose to go on a lower in order the players to be paid on time...
Our main target was our team to be persistent, to stay away from those problems (financial). We tried to work with players which were not out of our budget, not to take others which they will not improve dramatically the level of the team. If we will finally succeed it will look like a miracle because with not a lot of money we found 2-3 experienced players, (Xatzis, Kyritsis), the Americans along with the young ones to fulfill our targets. It is more easy to put young guys when is not a lot of stress not when the club has no win and your competitors three or four.
You have been in Thessaloniki in the past a few words about the three teams here...
Aris was expected to be much more stable due to the fact that he has many experienced Greek players but it doesn't. They had changed their coach and Aris along with PAOK in a championship with low lever they should be under Olympiakos and Panathinaikos.PAOK has a very good team but the financial problems had as a result a lot of players to leave. They should avoid these problems in order to have more chances to go well. Iraklis had changed a lot of players and coaches but is still in their targets. These three teams are historical and have a lot of supporters behind them and that give them more chances to succeed comparing to others.
Which teams you think will fight to stay in the first category?
By sure will be Iraklis, AEK and Ilysiakos. It may be one more, Ikaros that we have been now one win below them. Panellinios that is close I don't think they will have problems because they have a very good team whereas the rest of the clubs are far away from the relegation places.

Kostas Tsartsaris (209-F-79) announced retirement. The Greek international player played for the last eleven years to the six star and most successful team in Europe, Panathinaikos, being the oldest member of the team decided to terminate his dreamful career.
Few days ago, and right after the third game against Olympiakos and the 3-0 sweep over the Euroleague champions, Kostas Tsartsaris won the title being among the top performers in the third game (14 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists) , Kostas announced the termination of his careers as a basketball player after this seasons new double.
The Greek forward is leaving Panathinaikos after 11 continuous years being the top rebounder of the the Greens, having won 8 Greek cups in three of which was the MVP of the finals, 10 Greek champion trophies, and three Euroleague champion trophies all with the green jersey of Panathinaikos. Furthermore, Kostas played in seven All star games, while he was international with the Greek NT for 8 consecutive years. Tsartsaris is consider being the most successful Greek power forward in the latest history of the Greek basketball, not only due to his many trophies but also due to his character and low profile as a player, a true gentleman of the European courts.
This season, the veteran player had 5.4ppg, 4.3rpg, and 1.2apg in the green way to the double..
It is worth mentioned that the Greek international power forward was supposed to terminate his career last season but because of Coach Pedoulakis with whom is a very good friends and collaborators persuade him to remain for another one season to the Greens to help them re-build the newly established team after Obradovics era, so he did and he won it all Eurobasket is wishing him all the bet in the new step of his career, whatever that will be.
