FEA and Apollon Kalamarias relegated from the A1 - Apr 12, 2012

The play-outs of the A1 are over and the teams that will follow Apollon Ptolemaidos to the A2 are known. FEA Neas Halkidonas and Apollon Kalamarias failed to remain in the league losing to AS PAOK Thessalonikis and Aris Thessalonikis respectively. Consequently, the two big Thessaloniki clubs will participate in next years A1 league again, hoping that the things will be much better for them from every aspect.

PAOK did not have a very tough job against FEA which collapsed financially during the regular season and lost all its professional players. The team from Thessaloniki won twice, both at home and in Athens taking advantage of the little experience that the youngsters of FEA had and remained at the category without any sweat.

On the contrary Apollon Kalamarias fought bravely against Aris but in the end the 'yellows' prevailed against their opponents. Kostas Kotoulis's team won the first game but at Kalamaria, Apollon managed to tie the series. Though, at the last game in Alexandreio the home team, being more experienced, grabbed the win which let them remain in the A1 and led the other team from Thessaloniki to the A2 once again.
