Solna Vikings got a new Head Coach. The team hired Greek specialist Kostas Keramidas for the next season. He arrives to Solna from Asteras Exarheion Athens. Keramidas coached them last season in Greek A1 league. In 2010/11 he worked with AO Sporting Athens. Actually, Keramidas took them over in February of 2011 and was runner-up in A1 league. In the past, he worked with Agia Paraskevi, Egaleo and Panathinaikos. In 2005, Kostas Keramidas led Greek National Team at the European games in Belgrade. They won the Gold at this event. That same year he also coached U21 Greece and won the Silver with them at U21 World Championship in Argentina. Yesterday, Solna Vikings men team hired Greek Aris Likogiannis (agency: FCM ) as new Head Coach.

Nadezhda Orenburg (PBL) landed 26-year old Greek international forward Zoi Dimitrakou (188-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas). She played recently at Pankup TED Kayseri Kolejspor in Turkish TKBL. Dimitrakou managed to play in four leagues in two countries this year (!!!). In 10 TKBL games she averaged 12.9ppg, 3.8rpg, 2.1apg and 1.2spg. She also played 9 games in Eurocup where she had 11.8ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.4apg. Dimitrakou also spent pre-season at Cercle Jean Mace Bourges (LFB) in French league earlier that year. In 8 games she had 7.3ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.0apg. She also played 4 games in Euroleague where she had 8.0ppg, 5.0rpg and 2.0apg. The last season Dimitrakou played at Charleville-Mezieres (LFB) in French league. In 26 games she had 12.0ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.0apg. The previous (10-11) season she played at Aix-en-Provence (LFB) in French league. In 26 games she had 12.1ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.9apg and 1.2spg. Dimitrakou ended the previous (09-10) season at Cadi ICG Software (LFB) in Spanish league. In four games she had 7.0ppg and 1.8rpg. But the most of that year she spent at Paleo Faliro Pireus (B) in Greek league. In 8 games she had 13.4ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.5apg. Among other achievements Dimitrakou won Greek League championship title in 2007. She received also Eurobasket.com All-Greek League Most Improved Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com Greek League All-Domestic Players Team award back in 2008. Dimitrakou was also a member of Greek international program for some years. She played for Greek Senior National Team between 2006 and 2009 and previously for U20 National Team in 2006. Dimitrakou represented Greece at the Qualifications to European Championships 2013 last year. Her stats at that event were 8 games: 13.8ppg, 4.9rpg, 1.3apg, 1.8spg, FGP: 50.0%, 3PT: 33.3%, FT: 80.8%. Dimitrakou has played also professionally for other Greek teams like Panionios, M.Aleksandros and P.Faliro.

Maltsi also played 12 games in Eurocup where she was second best scorer with impressive 18.8ppg and averaged 2.7rpg, 2.2apg and 2.3spg (in top 5). The last season she played at CCC Polkowice (PLKK) in Polish league. In 35 games she recorded 12.4ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.5apg. She helped them to make it to the final after they ended regular season as second best team. A very impressive season as she was named to Eurobasket.com All-Polish PLKK Honorable Mention. Maltsi also played 14 games in Euroleague where she recorded 12.6ppg, 3.9rpg, 2.1apg and 1.5spg. The previous (10-11) season she played at USK Praha (ZBL) in Czech Republic league. In 19 games she recorded 9.3ppg, 2.9rpg and 1.6apg that season. She contributed to her team winning the league title despite they ended the regular season at the second place. Quite impressive season as she was named to Eurobasket.com Czech Rep. D1 All-Bosmans Team. Maltsi also played 4 games in Euroleague where she recorded 5.8ppg, 2.5rpg and 1.0apg. The list of the past achievements is quite long as she was voted Eurobasket.com All-Czech Rep. D1 Player of the Year and Eurobasket.com All-Czech Rep. D1 Bosman Player of the Year back in 2009. Maltsi also represented Greece at the European Championships in Poland two years ago. Her stats at that event were 3 games: 13.7ppg, 7.0rpg, 1.3apg, 1.0spg, FGP: 33.3%, 3PT: 38.1%, FT: 75.0%. Maltsi has played also professionally in France (Bourges), Spain (Ros Casares, Real Celta Vigo and Mann Filter) and WNBA (Connecticut Sun). It's very possible she may end her playing career at Antakya.
