Bourges Basket, with Zoi Dimitrakou (188-F-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) in its roster, started the 2012-13 Euroleague Women with a win over Wisla Krakow. The French team won 61-55, with the Greek international player having a major contribution to the victory, with great statistic numbers.

***Dimitrakou played 31 minutes and scored 8 points, with 2 three point shots - She also grabbed 7 rebounds and gave 6 assists

With a number of French players buoyed by their Olympic silver medal success, there was a spring in the step of the home team who scored the first six points of the contest and that set the tone.

Playmaker Celine Dumerc was back directing traffic but unlike her mesmerising performances in London which were characterised by her willingness to score, this time she stayed creator and had five assists.

Bourges, built up a double-digit lead by early in the second quarter at 33-23 and whilst the visitors got within two points at 47-45 in the last period, Bourges always looked more likely to step it up in the closing stages and that is exactly how it panned out.

Cristina Ouvina had a creditable 10 points and five assists on her EuroLeague Women debut for the losing team.

A1 Round 14: Panathinaikos beat Aris Thessal. by three after a very close game - 6 days ago
The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with derby games and favorites losing the games. Tenth-ranked Aris Thessal. (3-11) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Panathinaikos (10-4) in Thessaloniki on Sunday. The visitors from Athens managed to secure only three-point victory 69-66. However their fans expected much easier game. Panathinaikos forced 31 Aris Thessal. turnovers. Strangely Aris Thessal. outrebounded Panathinaiko...   [read more]
