Coincidentally all hosts won their games. There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with derby games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most exciting game of round 5 in the A1 took place in . This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 4th placed PAOK (3-2) to leader AO Ellinikou (5-0) 55-52 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But PAOK won fourth quarter 12-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Breanna Brock (187-90, college: Missouri) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and the former international forward Evina Stamati (180-84) chipped in 15 points. AO Ellinikou's coach Eleni Kapogianni used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Maria Avtzi (173) responded with 13 points and 4 steals. Undefeated AO Ellinikou have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted AO Ellinikou maintains first place with 5-0 record, which they share with Panathinaikos and Athinaikos. PAOK at the other side keeps the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Aris and Terpsithea. AO Ellinikou is looking forward to face GAC Eunikos (#11) in Liosa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. PAOK's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Thessaloniki Aris.

American power forward Diana Delva (188-88, college: Hartford) nailed 15 points for the winning side and Dimitra Kalentzou accounted for 11 points. Panathinaikos' coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Evi Kiriatzidou (181) came up with 22 points and 5 rebounds for Olympiakos in the defeat. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Panathinaikos. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Athinaikos and AO Ellinikou. Newly promoted Olympiakos dropped to the ninth place with four games lost. They share the position with Ikaros Kalitheas. Panathinaikos' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Athinaikos.

The best player for the winners was Maria Panagiotopoulou who scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Aglaia Farou produced 9 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Terpsithea moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Aris and PAOK. GAC Eunikos lost their fifth game in a row. They still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Panionios. Terpsithea will meet Kronos AD (#8) on the road in the next round. GAC Eunikos will play against the league's leader AO Ellinikou and hopes to get finally their first victory.

The most impressive stats of the last round was 13 points and 10 rebounds by Theodora Panteli of Asteras.

Important game to mention about took place in Thessaloniki. Sixth ranked Aris (3-2) saved a 1-point derby victory at home edging 9th ranked Ikaros Kalitheas (1-4) 46-45 on Sunday evening. Ikaros Kalitheas was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 14-12 charge of Aris, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 24 Ikaros Kalitheas turnovers. Guard Roula Mouli (177-85) stepped up and scored 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international power forward Evangelia Kotopodi (188-87) chipped in 9 points and 11 rebounds. American center Jasmine Erving (187-90, college: CS Northridge) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and guard Dimitra Giannakopoulou (180-81) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. PAOK Thessalonikis (A1) inked 25-year old American center Ondrea Shaw (193-91, college: E.Carolina). She played in the summer at SC Rip in Australian QBL. In 17 games she recorded 6.9ppg, 8.8rpg, 1.0apg and 2.6bpg. Among other achievements Shaw's team made it to the AAC Tournament Semifinals in 2015.
