Nikos Pappas
Telenet Oostende versus Panionios tonight in Belgium, in the opening week of the 2012-13 Eurocup. Let's see the facts of that game and the roster analysis and also what coach Skourtopoulos and Nikos Papas had to say for the game. Oostende welcomes Panionios back to the competition for a first time since 2007-08.

The defending Belgian champion has added forward Wes Wilkinson and guard Mario Stojic, who should improve scoring percentages, to some familiar names remaining from seasons past - Led again by coach Dario Giergja, the team will use Matt Lojeskis versatility and Brent Wrights impact under the glass to try and make it a comeback to forget for Panionios

The visiting side has in its roster one of the most interesting young players on the continent and a potential candidate for the 2013 Rising Star award: guard Nikos Pappas (195-G-90, agency: FCM). Matchups between Chris Booker and former Euroleague champ Tomas Van den Spiegel, or the point guard tussle between Dusan Djordjevic and Ashton Gibbs, could decide this one.

Thanasis Skourtopoulos
"Oostende is the last champion in Belgium, a team which participated at the Euroleague preliminary round which means that it is a very strong team. They have tradition and a full roster with experienced players. I think that their basketball style fits us well and because of that we're capable to fight for the victory at their home. It is a crucial game for both teams but I think that we can make it if we stay focus in our plan during the whole game. Oostende may have changed a lot its roster last summer but they are still a very good team."

Nikos Pappas
"It is very important for us to get an away win in our first Eurocup game of the season. We know the difficulties of this game and that we'll face a strong and experienced team. Unics Kazan is the favorite in out group but if we manage to get specially this away win against Oostende then we would make a great step forward to our qualification to the Last 16. We must be concentrated and focused and never let our opponents play their game in their rhythm."
