33-year old guard Athanasios Karydas (182-G-79) had a very impressive game in the last round for Koroivos and receives a Eurobasket.com A2 Player of the Week award for round 5. He had the game-high 25 points adding three rebounds and eight assists for Koroivos in his team's victory, helping them to crush Ermis Lagkada (#4, 4-1) with 16-point margin 87-71. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Koroivos is placed at 3rd position in Greek A2. They are still close to the very top. Koroivos would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 5-1 record. In the team's last game Karydas had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Karydas has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 5.0apg).
Second best performed player last round was Petros Noeas (204-F-87). He is a forward in his first season at Koroivos. In the last game Noeas recorded impressive double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds. Of course together with Karydas he helped Koroivos with another comfortable win 87-71 over slightly lower-ranked Ermis Lagkada (#4, 4-1) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Koroivos consolidated its place in top 3 of the standings. His team lost just one game this season, while they won 5 matches. Noeas is a newcomer at Koroivos and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Giannis Papachristos (194-F-80) of Trikalla (#7). Papachristos scored 13 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Trikalla, leading his team to a 72-56 easy win against the lower-ranked Arkadikos (#11, 1-5). Trikalla needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Papachristos has a great season in Greece. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.2rpg (8th best).

He was a member of Greek U20 National Team back in 2005. Kokkalis has played previously for six other teams: Peristeri GS Athens, Near East, Amyntas, Doukas, Arkadikos and Nea Kifisia.
