There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, derby games, favorites losing the games and even winless team recording their first victory.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated AO Ellinikou (9-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Panathinaikos (9-1) 68-59. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of AO Ellinikou. It was a key game for the top position in the league as both teams had the same 8-1 record before this meeting. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 35-21 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Panathinaikos made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. American power forward Diana Delva (188-88, college: Hartford) had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 20 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and international guard Dimitra Kalentzou (174-78) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international guard Tania Chalivera (178-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Panathinaikos have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Athinaikos and AO Ellinikou. Panathinaikos is looking forward to face PAOK (#4) in Thessaloniki in the next round. AO Ellinikou will play on the road against Aris in Thessaloniki and is hoping to win this game.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Athens: Athinaikos (#2) and Asteras (#7). Athinaikos (9-1) smashed visiting Asteras (4-6) by 19 points 70-51. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Asteras. The former international guard Lolita Lymoura (180-85, agency: LBM Management) notched a double-double by scoring 11 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and Afroditi Kosma supported her with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Even 18 points and 9 rebounds by center Katerina Glyniadaki (196-86, college: Cal-Riverside) did not help to save the game for Asteras. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Panathinaikos and AO Ellinikou. Asteras at the other side dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Athinaikos' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Olympiakos.

Aris will play against AO Ellinikou (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Panionios has finally registered their first victory this season after nine consecutive loses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Liosa, where they defeated GAC Eunikos (0-10) 74-64.
