Bottom-ranked Kavala managed to get the second consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they won against eighth-ranked Peristeri GS 84-79. And what about a second win in a row after ...seven consecutive loses. Kavala made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Peristeri GS helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Naturalized American center Steve Panos (206-88, college: Weber St.) stepped up and scored 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and guard Yannis Gagaloudis (192-78) chipped in 19 points. The best for the losing side was forward Andreas Kanonidis (198-91) with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Peristeri GS's coach Tzimis Koustenis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kavala (2-7) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Panelefsiniakos. Peristeri GS at the other side dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with Aris and KAOD. Kavala is looking forward to face higher ranked Panathinaikos (#4) in Athens in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aris' coach Vangelis Agelou allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Aris moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Peristeri GS and KAOD. Ikaros at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Aris' next round opponent will be KAOD (#11) in Dramas. Ikaros will play at home against AGOR (#5) in Rethymno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 9 KAOD lost to Kolossos on the opponent's court 76-82. Ilysiakos unfortunately lost to PAOK in a home game 72-76.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by Kostas Haralampidis of PAOK.


AGOR - Olympiacos 64-78

Everything could happen in Rodou at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Kolossos and 8th ranked KAOD had identical 3-5 record. This time Kolossos used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Dramas 82-76. KAOD was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 24-15 third quarter run of Kolossos.
