  follow us on Facebook Twitter

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Greeks who are currently playing abroad.

Evanthia Maltsi
Evanthia Maltsi
#1. This week's number one is an experienced international forward Evanthia Maltsi (180-78, agency: Josep and Nicolas, currently plays in Turkey). She led Kayseri to a victory over the tenth-ranked Antakya (3-5) 84-76 in the Turkish TKBL in Sunday night's game. Maltsi was MVP of the game. She scored 26 points (!!!), made 5 passes and 3 steals in 34 minutes on the court. Pankup TED Kayseri Kolejspor (7-1) is placed second in the TKBL. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Maltsi's first year with the team. Maltsi is currently third on the list of best passers and also on the list of most steals (second place). She has individually a very good year with high stats. Maltsi averages: 15.5ppg, 3.6rpg, 4.8apg, 2.8spg, 2FGP: 53.7%, 3FGP: 37.8% and FT: 93.8%(15-16) in the eight games she played so far. She is currently a member of the Greek senior national team.

Stefanie Murphy
Stefanie Murphy
#2. Second place goes to former international power forward Stefanie Murphy (192-89, college: Boston Coll., currently plays in France), who plays in the French LFB. Murphy could not help Union Hainaut (1-11) in their last game on Sunday. Despite her very good performance the bottom-ranked Union Hainaut was badly defeated 78-58 on the road by the much higher-ranked Basket Landes (#7). Murphy was the top scorer with 20 points. She also added 6 rebounds and made 2 blocks. It's Murphy's first season with the team. Murphy is currently sixth on the league's list of best rebounders. She has very reliable stats this season: 11.3ppg, 7.8rpg, 2FGP: 42.3%, 3FGP: 29.6% and FT: 77.3%. Murphy is a naturalized American. She played for the Greek national team in 2010. Strangely Murphy has never played in Greece.
