Anadolu Efes clinched the first win in EuroLeague Top 16 round. They held off Panathinaikos at home arena to improve at 1-1 record in Group E. Jordan Farmar (188-PG-86, college: UCLA) led well-balanced effort with 13 points.
Anadolu Efes did not waste too much time in taking the lead. They grabbed control early in the game to post a 24:17 lead ten minutes into it. Anadolu Efes extended the margin in the second quarter. The Turkish side accumulated a 45:32 halftime advantage. The hosts kept Panathinaikos at bay throughout the third quarter. The Hellenes faced a massive 21-point deficit heading into the fourth frame. The Athens team got within 12 points after buckets from Maciulis and Kapono but Vujacic capped the regulation with a jumper to seal 14-point win for the hosts. Lucas had 12 points, while Dusko Savanovic (204-PF-83, agency: Beo Basket) added 11 points in the victory. Michael Bramos (197-G/F-87, college: Miami, OH) answered with 16 points for Panathinaikos. Sofoklis Schortsanitis (206-C-85) netted 15 points in the loss.

Michael Dixon(186-G-90, college: Memphis) extended his contract with AEK BC until the summer of 2019 as the Greek club and Basketball Champions League contender announced today. Fenerbahce - Panathinaikos 84:63 Fenerbahce had little trouble firing past Panathinaikos in Istanbul today. Five player scored in double digits for the hosts.
