Talented American Samaria Howard (170-PG-94) put on an amazing game in the last round for Terpsithea and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7. The 22-year old playmaker had a double-double of 38 points and sixteen rebounds, while her team lost the game against Kronos AD (1-6) 70-84. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Terpsithea moved-up to the 12th position in Greek A1. The season is still in it's early stage, so the team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings. They lost 6 games and had just one victory. In the team's last game Howard had a remarkable 65.0% from 2-point range. She turned to be Terpsithea's top player in her first season with the team. Tennessee Tech University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Howard is in league's top in points (2nd best: 19.4ppg).
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old Australian forward Alex Sheedy (185-F-92) of Kronos AD. Sheedy impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 28 points and 18 rebounds. Of course she led Kronos AD to another comfortable win 84-70 over Terpsithea (1-6) being unquestionably team leader. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Kronos AD left the very bottom place moving slightly to 11th position. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Kronos AD managed to get this year. Sheedy is a newcomer at Kronos AD and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.
The third best performed player last round was another Kronos AD's star - Maria Avtzi (172-F-90). Avtzi got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. She went also for ten rebounds and five assists. She was another key player of Kronos AD, helping her team with a 84-70 easy win against Terpsithea (1-6). Kronos AD can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-6 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Avtzi she does not play for a better team. But maybe if she did, her season stats would not be that high. Avtzi has a very solid season. In 7 games in Greece she scored 11.7ppg.
Other top performing players last week: 4. Lynetta Kizer (193-C-90) of Olympiacos - 27 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists 5. Sheila Boykin (188-F) of Panathlitikos - 23 points and 13 rebounds 6. Kaylon Williams (190-F) of Athinaikos - 20 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists 7. Angeliki Nikolopoulou (178-G-91) of Proteas - 22 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists 8. Miriam McKenzie (177-G-90) of Aris Thessal. - 24 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists 9. Shamela Hampton (191-C-87) of Panathinaikos - 24 points and 12 rebounds 10. Korinne Campbell (184-F-88) of PAOK - 18 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
