32-year old power forward Branislav Tomic (205-F/C-80) had an amazing evening in the last round for Koroivos and receives a Eurobasket.com A2 Player of the Week award for round 11. He had a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Lavrio (#3, 8-3) 86-79. Koroivos is placed at 6th position in Greek A2. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Koroivos will need more victories to improve their 7-4 record. In the team's last game Tomic had a remarkable 58.8% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Branislav Tomic averages this season 11.8ppg.
Second best performed player last round was Giannis Maltesios (206-C-85) of Niki Volou. He is a center in his first season at Niki Volou. In the last game Maltesios recorded impressive 29 points and 9 rebounds. Bad luck as Niki Volou lost that game 87-93 to slightly higher-ranked OFI (#12, 2-9). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Niki Volou dropped in the standings to very bottom position. 10 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Niki Volou managed to get this year. Maltesios is a newcomer at Niki Volou and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to guard Kostas Vardavas (193-G-81) of Agia Paraskevis (#8). Vardavas scored 24 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Agia Paraskevis, leading his team to a 74-62 win against the lower-ranked Doxa Lefkadas (#13, 1-10). Agia Paraskevis needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 5 lost games. Vardavas has a very solid season. In 11 games in Greece he scored 11.7ppg. He also has 6.6rpg and FGP: 50.5%.
