Printezis' 20 points and 8 rebounds give him Player of the Week award - Jan 7, 2013

Georgios
Printezis
27-year old forward Georgios Printezis (206-F-85, agency: FCM) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Olympiacos and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 11.
He had the game-high 20 points adding eight rebounds and four assists for Olympiacos in his team's victory, helping them to crush Panelefsiniakos (#14, 2-9) with 18-point margin 94-76. It allowed Olympiacos to consolidate first place in the Greek league. They maintain perfect record without any lost game in the league. It's already very far into the season and Olympiacos keeps perfect 11 -0 record. In the team's last game Printezis had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Olympiacos and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Printezis has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 14.8ppg) and averages solid 72.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was William Coleman (206-F-88) of Kavala. He is American forward in his first season at Kavala. In the last game Coleman recorded impressive 21 points and 5 rebounds. Of course he lead Kavala to another comfortable win 86-72 over the higher-ranked Kolossos (#9, 4-7) being unquestionably team leader. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Kavala managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 12th place. 8 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Kavala managed to get this year. Coleman is a newcomer at Kavala and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Errick McCollum (185-PG-88, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) of Apollon Patras (#7). McCollum scored 22 points. Despite McCollum's great performance Apollon Patras lost 60-91 to the higher-ranked Panathinaikos (#2, 9-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Apollon Patras ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, McCollum could help Apollon Patras to bring them higher in the standings. McCollum has a very solid season. In 11 games in Greece he scored 13.5ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Stephane Lasme (203-F-82) of Panathinaikos - 14 points and 4 rebounds
5. Brent Petway (204-F-85) of AGOR - 17 points and 6 rebounds
6. Zoran Vrkic (200-G-87) of Ikaros - 19 points and 8 rebounds
7. Marc Antonio Carter (191-G-85) of AGOR - 22 points and 4 rebounds
8. Nestoras Kommatos (203-F-77) of AGOR - 16 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Landon Milbourne (201-F-87) of Panionios - 12 points and 10 rebounds
10. Aloysius Anagonye (203-F-81) of Ilysiakos - 13 points and 11 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Okaro White
Olympiacos could add Okaro White - May 31, 2016

Olympiacos S.F.P. Pireus (A1) is about to agree terms with 24-year old American forward Okaro White (206-93kg-92, college: Florida State) who played last time at Aris Thessaloniki. In 36 A1 games he had 13.9ppg, 7.3rpg, 1.6apg and 1.6spg last season. He helped them to make it to the Greek Cup Semifinals. The previous (14-15) season White played at Virtus Obiettivo Lavoro Bologna (Serie A) in Italian league. In 33 games he recorded 12.1ppg, 6.8rpg, 1.1apg and 1.0bpg in 2014-15 season. Vassilis Spanoulis carries Olympiacos to A1 title - May 30, 2016

FINAL Panathinaikos - Olympiacos 81-82 Olympiacos are crowned A1 champions. They survived a double-overtime drama against Panathinaikos to post the decisive victory. It all came down to the final seconds in the second overtime. Vassilis Spanoulis stepped up with late heroics for the visitors. He drained a massive three-pointer and carried the Reds to the trophy. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 21-15 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to level thi...   [read more]
The end of a basketball legend - May 30, 2016

Yesterday night (30.05.2016) was one of the worst nights for the European basketball as one of the top players of the last decade, decided to retire. Dimitris Diamantidis or else 3D or else triple D, the most altruist player in the European courts EVER, the player who won three Euroleague titles, nine Greek league and ten Greek cup titles, two Euroleague final four MVP Awards, four all-Euroleague first team selections, as well as a record of six Euroleague Best Defender Awards and being t...   [read more]
