We bring you last week's top performances from Greeks who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is former international forward Styliani Kaltsidou (188-83, agency: Josep and Nicolas, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in France. She could not help Bourges (6-3) in their last game. Despite Kaltsidou's very good performance the second-placed Bourges was edged 65-62 on the road by the lower-ranked (#3) Rivas Ecopolis in the group A of Euroleague. She was the second best scorer with 15 points. Kaltsidou also added 8 rebounds, 3 assists and made 2 blocks (made all of her five free throws) in 29 minutes on the court. There are only three games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Kaltsidou's fourth season with the team. This year she averages: 6.0ppg, 4.0rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 35.7% and FT: 73.3% in the five games she played so far. Kaltsidou played for the Greek senior national team two years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to an international forward Katerina Sotiriou (186-84, agency: FCM, currently plays in Spain). She was the major contributor in an Navarra Pamplona's victory against the closely-ranked Jopisa Burgos (4-6) 65-60 in the Spanish LFB last Saturday. Sotiriou scored 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. UNB Obenasa Navarra Pamplona (5-5) is placed fifth in the LFB. Sotiriou's overall stats this season are: 6.9ppg, 5.4rpg, 1.2apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 30.8%, 3FGP: 35.0%. She is in the roster of the Greek senior national team.

   #3. The Greek player who performed third best last week abroad was an international guard Nafsika Stavridou (182-86, currently plays in Sweden). Stavridou led Northland to a victory over the closely-ranked Solna Vikings (10-5) 64-60 in the Swedish Damligan on Wednesday night. She was MVP of the game. Stavridou recorded 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 24 minutes. It was his first game for Northland this season. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Her team is placed third in the Damligan. It was Northland's ninth consecutive victory in a row. Ex-AS PAOK Thessalonikis player is also a member of the Greek senior national team.

   #4. Power forward Peli Papamichail (189-86, also represented by Josep and Nicolas, currently plays in Italy) contributed to an easy victory against the third-ranked Napoli S.Dike (9-4) crushing them 75-46 in the Italian A2 (12th division) in Sunday night's game. Papamichail scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group South. Passalacqua Spedizioni Ragusa (13-0) is placed first. So far her team won all thirteen games in the Regular Season. It's Papamichail's first season with the team. She has relatively good stats this year: 13.2ppg, 9.1rpg and 1.3spg. Papamichail is also Greek national team player.

   #5. Former international forward Anna Spyridopoulou (184-88, currently plays in Sweden) faced previously mentioned Nafsika Stavridou in the Swedish Damligan last game. Spyridopoulou was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Solna Vikings (10-5) in their game against Northland (12-3). She recorded 9 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 30 minutes. But Solna Vikings lost 60-64 at home to the higher-ranked (#3) Northland. They ended the series of five consecutive victories. This year Spyridopoulou has relatively solid stats: 10.3ppg, 7.3rpg, 2.3apg and 1.5spg in the four games. She used to play for the Greek national team two years ago.

   #1. Experienced Vicky Volonaki (179-F-80, currently plays in Sweden), who plays in the Swedish Damligan could not help one of league's weakest teams one of league's weakest teams Solna Vikings (10-5) to beat Northland (12-3). Volonaki recorded 6 points, 3 assists and 4 steals. Solna Vikings was defeated 64-60 at home by the higher-ranked Northland (#3). It was Solna Vikings' first loss after five consecutive victories. Volonaki's overall stats this season are: 9.7ppg, 3.6rpg, 2.9apg and 1.4spg.

Canadian-Serbian Forward Stephany Skrba (188-F-87) had a great game in the last round for Proteas, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 9. The 29-year old player had a double-double of 17 points and 24 rebounds, while her team edged out Niki Lefkadas (#8, 4-5) 71-67. Proteas is placed at 4th position in Greek A1. The most interesting game of round 9 in the A1 was a home defeat of 7th ranked PAOK (4-5) by sixth ranked Dafni Agioy (5-4) who outscored them by 16 points 69-53. Dafni Agioy made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Dafni Agioy outrebounded PAOK 35-18 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds.
