Moubarak
During the 12th week of the Second Division league the favorite teams won their games but the surprise came from the team of Halkida which succeeded an important road win, so we had the following results in all the games:

North Group
Pierikos Arhelaos - Egaleo 81-86
Periods: 18-26, 45-43, 56-71, and 81-86.
A great derby took place in Katerini where the home team suffered another one home loss after a great second half by the visiting site of Coach Katsounis especially in the third period where the team of Egaleo scored 28 points against 11 points scored by the home team. The amazing swingman Kostas Mubarak (192-G-88) performed nearly perfect as his 7 of 9 behind the arc three pointers and his total of 33 points are giving him the trophy of the man of the week in the second division. It is worth mentioned that this is Mubaraks career high record. This was the first road win for the team of Egaleo, this season
Top scorer:
Pierikos: Sakelariou 12, Nektarios Marousits (194-G-89) 21, Giorgos Asimakis (195-F-83) 22
Egaleo: Fotitzoglou 11, Karavolas 12, Kostas Mubarak 33, Michalos 13

Marousi - Metamorfosi Volou 81-64
Periods: 28-14, 42-25, 65-49, 81-64
Coach Mageiras saw is team to succeed a solid home win after the three weeks as Maroussi added its seventh win this season (7-4) against Metamorfosi Volou of Coach Myrintzis which remained in the negative record (4-7) and is officially in the dangerous zone of the relegation since MENT won the game earlier on and overpass the Volos team in the table. It is worth mentioned the great performance by Kostas Macheras (205-C-85).
Top Scorers:
Marousi: Bardas 10, Konstantakopoulos 14, Kerasovitis 10, Dorkofikis 11, Kostas Macheras 29
Metamorfosi: Georgiou 11, Tsolis 13, Christos Zarogiannis (203-F-77) 16, Karavasanis 12

MENT - Filippos Veroias 58-87
Periods: 14-24, 33-44, 47-70, 58-87
The newcomer Coach Nikolaidis seems that is not able to change the climate for his team (his is only at is third week in the team) and the negative psychology at his players is still obvious and was the main reason of the todays result and performance by MENTs players since Filippos Veroias actually thrashed them and the deficit of 29 points is showing the real problem for the team.
Top scorers:
MENT: Evanelinos 11, Spyros Lefkaditis (204-F/C-89) 15
Filippos Veroias: Kothras 10, Trihopoulos 14, Savas Chrysopoulos (200-F-89) 21, Raptis 15, Katsabalis 10, Brozos 13

Ionikos Ionias - Iraklis Thessaloniki
Periods:
Coach Kostopouloss top seated team of Iralis without one of his main players (Dimitris Maslarinos) added its 9th victory (9-2) and is heading all the way towards the first spot of the group. Coach Aggelis team (2-8) is still remaining at the bottom of the league, and unless a small miracle happens Marapidis and his team-mates will be playing in the third division next season.

Stratoni - Aias Evosmou 76-71
Periods: 18-16, 38-38, 53-58, 76-71
The derby of the division took place in the North Hellas where two more or less equal teams of Coaches Mythou and Hatzoulis play in a crucial game since the winner would have done a step closer to the top seat. The third seated Stratoni against the 4th seated Aias Evosmou performed great but finally, the home team with a great fourth period won the game and added not only another one victory in its record bu increased his deficit from his opponent to a +3 in their in between positioning.
Top Scorers:
Stratoni: Kamilalis 11, Kokolios 13, Giannis Daskalopoulos (195-G/F-80) 18.
Aias: Tepetidis 16, Savvas Iliadis (192-G-79) 18, Mavridis 16

Mahites Doxa Pefkon Ionikos Neas Filadelphias 82-53
Periods: 15-9, 43-29, 57-41, 82-53
Coach Kyriakou team (Mahites) had no problem to thrash the visiting site of Coach Stathoulis and the final difference of the 29 points is saying it all..
Top scorers:
Mahites: ): Eleftheriadis 16, Danakis 10, Karouzos 15
Ionikos: Siristatidis 11, Christodoulos 15 and Tsakiridis 10.

South Group
Enosi Iliou - Kronos Agiou Dimitriou 68-62
Periods: 23-18, 37-34, 52-43, 68-62
The newcomer Head Coach Marios Despotakis in his second game as a head Coach of Enosi Iliou succeeded his first victory over Head Coach Paraskevopoulos team of Kronos Agiou Dimitriou and now with a record closer to positive (5-6) is facing the future with more perspectives for better positioning at the end. Enosi Iliou was better than Kronos (2-9) which remain in the danger zone with only Ermis Perama at the bottom and many chances for relegation already in the horizon since Halkida is expected sooner or later to start winning some games.
Top scorers:
Enosi: Mitropoulos 12, Likogiannis 10, Rodostoglou 16, Tsotsos 10
Kronos: Straganiotis 13, Vrinas 13, Vlahopoulos 10

Doukas - AEK Athens 72-84
Periods : 21-24, 42-49, 52-64, 72-84
The visiting site with Michalis Polytarhou and Sakis Veskoukis in its roster Coach Ziagos after the thrilling victory of last week against Holargos in the extra time, added a solid road win against Coach Giannopoulos team with the clear 72-84 as AEK took the lead from the early beginning and never looked back with an amazing Andronikos Gizogiannis (200-F/C-83, agency: FCM) who performed his best game since he arrived this season to the team of AEK.
Top scorers:
Doukas: St. Papadionysiou 11, Sotiris Bourdanos (187-G-86) 23, Halaris 11
AEK: Andronikos Gizogiannis 26, Kopsaftis 12, Polytarhou 13

Holargos - Halkida 71-73
Periods : 21-25, 36-48, 51-59, 71-73
A crucial road win was succeeded earlier on in the Holargos home court since the furious and winless team of Coach Oikonomakis in a game which seem to be a do or die for his team, succeeded to win with the thrilling 71-73 even though the deficit for his team was even as many as +12 a bit before the end. A great game by Elias Tomaras (181-G-81) who was the MVP of the game not only due to his 23 points but due to his overall performance in both the edges of the court, being the man of the match.
Top scorers:
Holargos: Koutoulas 11, Poulis 12, Kiapekos 11, Tassopoulos 17
Halkida: Ekine 12, Elias Tomaras 23 and Pardakas 11

Psyhiko Amyntas Dafnis 80-75
Periods : 18-16, 40-30, 58-57, 80-75
An old time classic derby took place in Psyhiko where the home team finally won the game in the details with leading figure being the talented Vasilis Mihopoulos (193-G-83) who ended the game with 24 points while for another week (as most of the weeks this season) the veteran Pettas was outstanding and helped is team to win the game over Coach Vlahos troops who where also very good but at the end seem to be more tired than their opponents.
Top scorers:
Psyhiko: Pettas 17, Vogiatzis 16, Vasilis Mihopoulos 24
Amyntas: Thodoris Vardianos (193-G-78) 19, Koukounias 19, Zoupas 14, Tzougarakis 11.

Aetos - Near East 72-70
Periods : 18-21, 36-31, 56-52, 72-70
The home team of Coach Papamarkos finally won the thrilling derby against Near East with solid game by his trio, Kokkalis, Giorgos Tirlas (197-G/F-80) and Papargiropoulos. On the other hand Near East lost a game in details and if Karabas and Karastamatis were able to help their point guard Giannis Dip a bit more then the road win would have been a fact, instead they lost another derby at the end.
Top scorers:
Aetos: Kokkalis 14, Giorgos Tirlas 16 and 9 rebounds, Papargiropoulos 13
Near East: Giannis Deep (186-PG-86) 25, Karabas 14, Karastamatis 10 and 11 rebounds,

Ermis Perama - Panerythraikos 42-65
Periods: 10-18, 26-34, 38-52, 42-65
The weakest team in both the groups is obviously the team of Coach Katopodis which is also the number one favorite team to relegate to the C Division in the season 2013-2014 as not even a miracle can save the team. The team of Coach Houhoulis had no problems to simply add another one victory in its record with Makris being the man of the game.
Top scorers:
Perama: Marinos 11
Panerythraikos: Makris 18 and Tzemis 11

A1 Round 1 of Finals. Olympiacos outscore Panathinaikos in opener - 10 hours ago
FINAL Olympiacos - Panathinaikos 63-58 Olympiacos topped Panathinaikos to take 1-0 lead in the championship series. Panathinaikos was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 15-8 charge of Olympiacos, which allowed them to win the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Panathinaikos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
