The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Athens: Olympiacos (#1) and Panionios (#3). Olympiacos (12-0) won against visiting Panionios (9-3) 87-73. The game was mostly controlled by Olympiacos. Panionios managed to win third quarter 27-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game, while Panionios only scored ten points from the stripe. 28 personal fouls committed by Panionios helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Georgios Printezis (206-85, agency: FCM) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 rebounds and international guard Vassilis Spanoulis (193-82, agency: Beo Basket) who added 13 points and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was naturalized Serbian forward Vladimir Jankovic (202-90, agency: FCM) with 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated Olympiacos have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 12-0 record. Panionios at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with PAOK. Olympiacos are looking forward to face Apollon Patras (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Panionios will play against Ikaros (#6) in Kalitheas and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.

It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of AGOR. The winners were led by American point guard Dwight Thorne (190-88, college: Colorado) who scored that evening 14 points and 5 rebounds and Andreas Kanonidis supported him with 17 points. Even 21 points and 7 rebounds by Serbian center Damir Latovic (204-80) did not help to save the game for AGOR. Peristeri GS moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Aris and Apollon Patras. AGOR at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Peristeri GS's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Ilysiakos.
A very close game took place in Dramas between Ilysiakos and KAOD. Thirteenth ranked Ilysiakos (3-9) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked KAOD (4-8). Ilysiakos managed to escape with a 3-point win 83-80 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was Terrell Stoglin who scored 28 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Kevin Palmer who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. KAOD's coach Giorgos Kalafatakis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ilysiakos moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Kavala. Loser KAOD keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Kolossos. Ilysiakos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Peristeri GS.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 12: Panathinaikos won against Kolossos on the opponent's court 67-59. PAOK managed to outperform Apollon Patras in a home game 68-61. Bottom-ranked Panelefsiniakos recorded a loss to Ikaros on the road 85-78. Kavala was defeated by Aris on its own court 77-85.

Peristeri GS - AGOR 70-69

Important game to mention about took place in Athens. Ninth ranked Peristeri GS (5-7) saved a 1-point derby victory at home edging higher ranked AGOR (7-5) 70-69 on Sunday evening. Strangely AGOR outrebounded Peristeri GS 34-22. Kolossos - Panathinaikos 59-67

Very expected game in Rodou where 10th ranked Kolossos (4-8) was defeated by second ranked Panathinaikos (10-2) 67-59 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-12. But Kolossos won second period 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Panathinaikos forced 20 Kolossos turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was forward Jason Kapono (201-81, college: UCLA) who scored 17 points and 5 assists. Forward James Gist (205-86) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Panathinaikos' coach Argiris Pedoulakis used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Marcus Hatten (186-80, college: St.John's) who recorded 15 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Kevin Langford (204-85, college: TCU) added 12 points respectively. Panathinaikos have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 10-2 record having just two points less than leader Olympiacos. Kolossos lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with eight games lost. They share the position with KAOD. Panathinaikos will meet at home PAOK (#4) in the next round. Kolossos will play against Aris (#7) in Thessaloniki and hope to secure a win.

Rather predictable result in Thessaloniki where fourth ranked PAOK (9-3) defeated 7th ranked Apollon Patras (5-7) 68-61 on Saturday. Apollon Patras trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 22-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 61-68 at the end of the game. PAOK made 24-of-26 free shots (92.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Dimitris Haritopoulos (205-83, agency: Interperformances) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). point guard Kostas Haralampidis (189-76) chipped in 17 points. PAOK's coach Soulis Markopoulos used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Nikos Argyropoylos (186-78) who recorded 14 points and 4 assists and naturalized Serbian swingman Vladimir Petrovic-Stergiou (199-77, agency: BeoExcell) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. PAOK moved-up to third place, which they share with Panionios. Apollon Patras lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Peristeri GS and Aris. PAOK will meet league's second-placed Panathinaikos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Apollon Patras will play against the league's leader Olympiacos (#1) in Athens and hope to secure a win.

Not a big story in a game in Kalitheas where 14th ranked Panelefsiniakos (2-10) was defeated by sixth ranked Ikaros (6-6) 85-78 on Saturday. Panelefsiniakos was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 27-16 charge of Ikaros, which allowed them to win the game. Ikaros outrebounded Panelefsiniakos 32-21 including 21 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Senegalese forward Mouhammad Faye (208-85, college: SMU) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Serbian center Mladen Pantic (209-82, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Nikos Liakopoulos (189-83, agency: FCM) who recorded 26 points and 5 assists and point guard Giannis Kyriakopoulos (185-83) added 15 points respectively. A very close game took place in Dramas between Ilysiakos and KAOD. Thirteenth ranked Ilysiakos (3-9) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked KAOD (4-8). Ilysiakos managed to escape with a 3-point win 83-80 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 46-41 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) who scored 28 points and 4 assists. Nigerian-American forward Aloysius Anagonye (203-81, college: Michigan St.) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Kevin Palmer (198-87, college: Texas A&M-CC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import guard Preston Knowles (185-89, college: Louisville) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. KAOD's coach Giorgos Kalafatakis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ilysiakos moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Kavala. Loser KAOD keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Kolossos. Ilysiakos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Peristeri GS.

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Aris (5-7) beat on the road 12th ranked Kavala (3-9) 85-77 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-19. But Kavala won second period 25-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Aris won last quarter 21-15. Aris outrebounded Kavala 34-22 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Michalis Pelekanos (198-81, agency: FCM) who scored 20 points. Power forward Kostas Charissis (212-79, college: USC, agency: FCM) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Aris' coach Vangelis Agelou used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Christoforos Stefanidis (184-80) who recorded 10 points and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and American forward William Coleman (206-88, college: Memphis) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four Aris and five Kavala players scored in double figures. Aris moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Peristeri GS and Apollon Patras. Loser Kavala keeps the twelfth position with nine games lost. They share it with Ilysiakos. Aris will meet at home Kolossos (#10) in the next round. Kavala will play against AGOR in Rethymno and hope to secure a win.
