The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Athens: Olympiacos (#1) and Panionios (#3). Olympiacos (12-0) won against visiting Panionios (9-3) 87-73. The game was mostly controlled by Olympiacos. Panionios managed to win third quarter 27-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game, while Panionios only scored ten points from the stripe. 28 personal fouls committed by Panionios helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Georgios Printezis (206-85, agency: FCM) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 rebounds and international guard Vassilis Spanoulis (193-82, agency: Beo Basket) who added 13 points and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was naturalized Serbian forward Vladimir Jankovic (202-90, agency: FCM) with 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Undefeated Olympiacos have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 12-0 record. Panionios at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with PAOK. Olympiacos are looking forward to face Apollon Patras (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Panionios will play against Ikaros (#6) in Kalitheas and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Important game to mention about took place in Athens. Ninth ranked Peristeri GS (5-7) saved a 1-point derby victory at home edging higher ranked AGOR (7-5) 70-69 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of AGOR. The winners were led by American point guard Dwight Thorne (190-88, college: Colorado) who scored that evening 14 points and 5 rebounds and Andreas Kanonidis supported him with 17 points. Even 21 points and 7 rebounds by Serbian center Damir Latovic (204-80) did not help to save the game for AGOR. Peristeri GS moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Aris and Apollon Patras. AGOR at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Peristeri GS's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Ilysiakos.
A very close game took place in Dramas between Ilysiakos and KAOD. Thirteenth ranked Ilysiakos (3-9) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked KAOD (4-8). Ilysiakos managed to escape with a 3-point win 83-80 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was Terrell Stoglin who scored 28 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Kevin Palmer who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. KAOD's coach Giorgos Kalafatakis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ilysiakos moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Kavala. Loser KAOD keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Kolossos. Ilysiakos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Peristeri GS.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 12: Panathinaikos won against Kolossos on the opponent's court 67-59. PAOK managed to outperform Apollon Patras in a home game 68-61. Bottom-ranked Panelefsiniakos recorded a loss to Ikaros on the road 85-78. Kavala was defeated by Aris on its own court 77-85.
