We bring you last week's top performances from Greeks who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Loukas Mavrokefalidis
Loukas Mavrokefalidis
#1. This week's number one is former international center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-84, currently plays in Eurocup). He led his Russian team Spartak St.Petersburg to a victory over the closely-ranked Stelmet ZG (1-2) crushing them 89-69 in the Eurocup in Wednesday night's game. Mavrokefalidis was MVP of the game. He scored 19 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 28 minutes on the court. Spartak St.Petersburg (2-1) is placed second in group K. There are only three games left until the end of the Eurocup Top 16. So now every game will be critical. Mavrokefalidis has relatively good stats this year: 13.7ppg, 5.3rpg, 1.6apg, 2FGP: 50.5%, 3FGP: 25.0% and FT: 73.3% in the nine games he played so far. He played for the Greek senior national team two years ago.

Kostas Koufos
Kostas Koufos
#2. Second place goes to former international center Kostas Koufos (213-89, college: Ohio St., currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. Koufos could not help the Denver Nuggets (26-18) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his very good performance the Denver Nuggets were badly defeated 117-97 on the road by the Oklahoma City Thunder. Koufos was the top scorer with 16 points. He also added 9 rebounds. This season Koufos has relatively solid stats: 8.1ppg, 6.5rpg, 1.4bpg, 2FGP: 59.8%(159-266) and FT: 56.4%. He is a naturalized American. Koufos played for the Greek national team in 2011. Strangely he has never played in Greece.

Nick Calathes
Nick Calathes
#3. The Greek player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Nick Calathes (198-89, college: Florida, currently plays in Eurocup). So far his team won all three games in the Top 16. There are only two games left until the end of the Eurocup Top 16. So now every game is very crucial. It's Calathes' first season with the team. Calathes is currently second on the list of best passers with 7.3apg. This year his other stats are: 14.3ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 53.1%, 3FGP: 31.0% and FT: 53.3% in the nine games.
