Karaboulas' 26 points and 7 rebounds give him A2 Player of the Week award - Feb 4, 2013

Vaggelis
Karaboulas
31-year old forward Vaggelis Karaboulas (198-F-81, agency: FCM) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Nea Kifisia and receives a Eurobasket.com A2 Player of the Week award for round 15.
He had the game-high 26 points adding seven rebounds and three assists for Nea Kifisia in his team's victory, helping them to outclass OFI (#14, 3-12) with 60-point margin 128-68. Nea Kifisia maintains the 2nd position in Greek A2. They are still close to the very top. Nea Kifisia would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 12-3 record. Karaboulas turned to be Nea Kifisia's top player in his first season with the team. Karaboulas has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 18.6ppg) and averages solid 53.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Vaggelis Sklavos (202-F-77) of Pagrati. He is a forward in his first season at Pagrati. In the last game Sklavos recorded impressive double-double of 23 points and 18 rebounds. Of course he lead Pagrati to another comfortable win 90-75 over slightly higher-ranked Lavrio (#6, 9-6) being unquestionably team leader. Pagrati's 8th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 8-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Sklavos is a newcomer at Pagrati and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Giannis Papachristos (194-F-80) of Trikalla (#3). Papachristos showcased his all-around game by recording 14 points, sixteen rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of Trikalla, leading his team to a 90-57 easy win against #1 ranked Filathlitikos in a game of the week. Trikalla needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 11 victories and 4 lost games. Papachristos has a great season in Greece. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.7rpg (#1 in league).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Spyros Diamantopoulos (195-F-81) of Nea Kifisia - 12 points, 16 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Dimos Fotiou (197-F-82) of Pagrati - 28 points and 9 rebounds
6. Giorgos Mourikis (205-PF-90) of Nea Kifisia - 20 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Petros Noeas (204-F-87) of Koroivos - 16 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Branislav Tomic (205-F/C-80) of Koroivos - 16 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Kostas Vardavas (193-G-81) of Agia Paraskevis - 15 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Giorgos Anagnostopoulos (207-C-80) of Ermis Lagkada - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
