Mihalis Tsairelis (207-F/C-88) had an amazing evening in the last round for PAOK and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 16. The 24-year old power forward had a double-double of 16 points and twelve rebounds, while his team beat KAOD (#12, 5-11) 77-66. PAOK maintains the 4th position in Greek A1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. PAOK will need more victories to improve their 12-4 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Tsairelis as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Mihalis Tsairelis averages this season 8.3ppg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 31-year old former international forward Michalis Pelekanos (198-F-81, agency: FCM) of Aris. Pelekanos impressed basketball fans with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. It was enough for Aris to edge the lower-ranked Ilysiakos (#10, 5-11) by 2 points 64-62. Aris' 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-9 record. Pelekanos is a newcomer at Aris and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.
The third best performed player last round was American Terrell Stoglin (185-PG-91) of Ilysiakos (#10). Stoglin scored 29 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Stoglin's great performance Ilysiakos lost 62-64 to the higher-ranked Aris (#7, 7-9). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Ilysiakos not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 11 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Stoglin could try to bring Ilysiakos' a little bit higher in the standings. Stoglin has a very solid season. In 8 games in Greece he scored 27.0ppg.
