The Regular Season in A1 is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 3 rounds.
The most exciting game of round 19 in the A1 took place in Ellinikou. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of their biggest opponent AO Ellinikou (16-3) to third ranked Athinaikos (16-3) 59-58 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of AO Ellinikou. AO Ellinikou cut a 14-point halftime deficit to one at the end of the game. Guard Zoi Kechagia (170-79) fired 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. The former international guard Lolita Lymoura (180-85, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Breanna Brock (187-90, college: Missouri) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated AO Ellinikou. Athinaikos is looking forward to face Aris (#6) in Thessaloniki in the next round. AO Ellinikou will play on the road against Terpsithea (#9) in Glyfadas and is hoping to win this game. Leader Panathinaikos delivered the eighteenth victory. This time they beat 9th ranked Terpsithea (6-13) 60-48 in Athens. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Diana Delva (188-88, college: Hartford) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Dimitra Kalentzou contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. Panathinaikos' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Michelle Harrison (190-87, college: Utah) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for Terpsithea. Panathinaikos (18-1) have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place. Terpsithea lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Panathinaikos will play against Ikaros Kalitheas (#5) in Glyfada in the next round. Terpsithea will play at home against the league's second-placed AO Ellinikou (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track. The last season Dimitrakou played at Charleville-Mezieres (LFB) in French league. In 26 games she had 12.0ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.0apg. The previous (10-11) season she played at Aix-en-Provence (LFB) in French league. In 26 games she had 12.1ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.9apg and 1.2spg. Dimitrakou ended the previous (09-10) season at Cadi ICG Software (LFB) in Spanish league. In four games she had 7.0ppg and 1.8rpg. But the most of that year she spent at Paleo Faliro Pireus (B) in Greek league. In 8 games she had 13.4ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.5apg. Among other achievements Dimitrakou won Greek League championship title in 2007. She received also Eurobasket.com All-Greek League Most Improved Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com Greek League All-Domestic Players Team award back in 2008. Dimitrakou was also a member of Greek international program for some years. She played for Greek Senior National Team between 2006 and 2009 and previously for U20 National Team in 2006. Dimitrakou represented Greece at the Qualifications to European Championships 2013 last year. Her stats at that event were 8 games: 13.8ppg, 4.9rpg, 1.3apg, 1.8spg, FGP: 50.0%, 3PT: 33.3%, FT: 80.8%. Dimitrakou has played also professionally for other Greek teams like Panionios, M.Aleksandros and P.Faliro.
