The game between third ranked Panionios (15-4) and fifth ranked AGOR (12-7) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Panionios was defeated by AGOR in Rethymno 78-68. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Panionios. The game was mostly controlled by AGOR. Panionios managed to win second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AGOR forced 19 Panionios turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by Panionios helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American guard Paris Horne (191-87, college: St.John's) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points. His fellow American import guard Marc Antonio Carter (191-85, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: Limelight Hoops) helped adding 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). At the losing side American forward Landon Milbourne (201-87, college: Maryland, agency: Three Eye Sports) responded with 19 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AGOR maintains fifth place with 12-7 record. Panionios at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with PAOK. AGOR are looking forward to face Apollon Patras (#6) on the road in the next round. Panionios' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Ilysiakos.
A1 top team - Olympiacos (18-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat eleventh ranked Kavala (5-14) 94-76. It was a quality performance for the former international forward Georgios Printezis (206-85, agency: FCM) who led the winners and scored 21 points. Kostas Papanikolaou accounted for 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Olympiacos' coach Giorgos Bartzokas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Scottish-Nigerian Kieron Achara (208-83, college: Duquesne, agency: Two Points) came up with 16 points and 5 rebounds for Kavala in the defeat. Olympiacos have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 18-1 record. Kavala at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with Peristeri GS and KAOD. Olympiacos will play against Kolossos (#9) in Rodou in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kavala will play on the road against Ikaros in Kalitheas and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Thessaloniki was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Apollon Patras (9-10) played at the court of seventh ranked Aris (9-10). Aris managed to secure a 4-point victory 68-64 on Saturday. Muhamed Pasalic fired 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Aris' coach Vangelis Agelou used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Errick McCollum produced 18 points and 5 steals for lost side. Aris moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Apollon Patras. Aris' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Thessaloniki to the arena PAOK.

Worth to mention a great performance of Aloysius Anagonye who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Ilysiakos moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Kolossos. Newly promoted Panelefsiniakos stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Ilysiakos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Panionios.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 19: KAOD lost to Panathinaikos on the opponent's court 70-87. Peristeri GS unfortunately lost to Ikaros in a home game 79-88. PAOK managed to beat Kolossos on the road 70-65.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 17 points and 5 rebounds by Zoran Vrkic of Ikaros.


Panathinaikos - KAOD 87-70

Very expected game in Athens where 11th ranked KAOD (5-14) was defeated by second ranked Panathinaikos (16-3) 87-70. They made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Panathinaikos forced 21 KAOD turnovers. 29 personal fouls committed by KAOD helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Dimitris Diamantidis (196-80) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Lithuanian swingman Jonas Maciulis (199-85) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American guard Jason Rowe (178-78, college: Loyola, MD, agency: Two Points) answered with 14 points and 6 assists and the other American import guard Preston Knowles (185-89, college: Louisville) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for KAOD. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Panathinaikos. They maintain second place with 16-3 record having just two points less than leader Olympiacos. KAOD lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Panathinaikos' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Panelefsiniakos (#14) in Eleusina which should be an easy win for them. KAOD will play at home against Peristeri GS in Athens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The guests were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 19-17 Peristeri GS's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 88-79 at the end of the game. Ikaros made 18-of-19 charity shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. The game between third ranked Panionios (15-4) and fifth ranked AGOR (12-7) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Panionios was defeated by AGOR in Rethymno 78-68. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Panionios. The game was mostly controlled by AGOR. Panionios managed to win second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AGOR forced 19 Panionios turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by Panionios helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American guard Paris Horne (191-87, college: St.John's) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points. His fellow American import guard Marc Antonio Carter (191-85, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: Limelight Hoops) helped adding 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). At the losing side American forward Landon Milbourne (201-87, college: Maryland, agency: Three Eye Sports) responded with 19 points and naturalized Serbian forward Vladimir Jankovic (202-90, agency: FCM) scored 9 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AGOR maintains fifth place with 12-7 record. Panionios at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with PAOK. AGOR are looking forward to face Apollon Patras (#6) on the road in the next round. Panionios' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Ilysiakos.

Kolossos - PAOK 65-70

Not a big story in a game in Rodou where 9th ranked Kolossos (6-13) was defeated by fourth ranked PAOK (15-4) 70-65. Kolossos was ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 27-19 charge of PAOK, which allowed them to win the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Kolossos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for American point guard Wiliam Hatcher (188-84, college: Miami, OH) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 5 rebounds. The former international center Lazaros Papadopoulos (210-80) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Marcus Hatten (186-80, college: St.John's) answered with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the other American import power forward Kevin Langford (204-85, college: TCU) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Kolossos. Kolossos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for PAOK. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Panionios. Kolossos lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. PAOK's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Thessaloniki Aris.
