27-year old forward Georgios Printezis (206-F-85, agency: FCM) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Olympiacos and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 26. He had a double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds, while his team outclassed Apollon Patras (#8, 11-15) with 27-point margin 80-53. It allowed Olympiacos to consolidate first place in the Greek league. Olympiacos has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 25-1. In the team's last game Printezis had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Olympiacos and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Printezis has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (9th best: 13.7ppg) and averages solid 70.3% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Marc Antonio Carter (191-G-85) of AGOR. He is American guard in his first season at AGOR. In the last game Carter recorded impressive 28 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. It was enough for AGOR to edge the lower-ranked Kavala (#14, 5-21) by 2 points 82-80. AGOR's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 17-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Carter is a newcomer at AGOR and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to guard Nikos Liakopoulos (189-PG-83, agency: FCM) of Panelefsiniakos (#11). Liakopoulos scored 17 points and passed eleven assists (!!!). Despite Liakopoulos' great performance Panelefsiniakos lost 77-101 to slightly higher-ranked KAOD (#9, 11-15). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Panelefsiniakos can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 7-19 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Liakopoulos he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Liakopoulos has individually a great season in Greece. After 26 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.3ppg (4th best) and assists with 4.7apg (3rd best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. James Gist (205-F-86) of Panathinaikos - 20 points and 9 rebounds 5. Giannis Demertzis (194-PG-83) of Kavala - 9 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists 6. William Coleman (206-F-88) of Kavala - 20 points and 8 rebounds 7. Kostas Kakaroudis (204-C-83) of KAOD - 24 points and 2 assists 8. Aloysius Anagonye (203-F-81) of Ilysiakos - 12 points and 10 rebounds
The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

They maintain second position with 22-4 record having just three points less than leader Olympiacos. PAOK lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with nine games lost. They share the position with AGOR. A1 top team - Olympiacos (25-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Apollon Patras (11-15) in Athens 80-53. Kyle Hines notched 13 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 19 points by Dominique Morrison did not help to save the game for Ilysiakos. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Olympiacos have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 25-1 record. Ilysiakos lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh place with 19 games lost. They share the position with Panelefsiniakos and Peristeri GS. The best player for the winners was Landon Milbourne who scored 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Ilysiakos was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Nontas Papantoniou (190-90) saved the victory by scoring 24 points.
