Perry Petty
G.Larissa-Faros BC (A1) agreed terms with 29-year old American (has also Bissau-Guinean passport) point guard Perry Petty (185-86kg-88, college: UTRGV). He has played for the last two seasons at Egis Kormend in Hungarian A Division. In 34 games he had 12.3ppg, 6.1rpg, 5.6apg (top 3) and 2.0spg (in top 2) last season. Petty helped them to make it to the semifinals. He also played 13 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he recorded 14.5ppg, 5.9rpg, 6.8apg and 2.2spg. Quite impressive season as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-FIBA Europe Cup Honorable Mention.
The previous (15-16) season Petty played at Apollon Patras. In 8 A1 games he averaged 7.9ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.0apg.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Petty's team won Hungarian Cup in 2016. He was also voted USBasket.com All-PBL Player of the Year back in 2012.
Petty is quite experienced player. He has played in eight different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). Petty has played previously professionally in Belarus (Tsmoki-Minsk), Italy (Virtus Roma and VL Pesaro), Lebanon (Al Moutahed), Romania (Giurgiu), Slovakia (Vahostav-Zilina), Venezuela (Trotamundos) and IBA-PBL (Cent.Illinois D.).
He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league on the market.
Petty attended University of Texas Rio Grande Valley until 2011 and it will be his seventh season as a professional player.
He could be described: Perry is a Point Guard that can control the tempo of a game and creates problems with his shooting ability on the offensive end of the floor. He is a very aggressive defender and is able to guard positions from the 1 or 2. Great rebounder for his position and is able to be very effective in the pick and roll set.
Perry about himself:
I'm humble, carefree and a kindhearted person. I enjoy joking around and making people laugh. Nothing bothers me besides losing. I work hard and expect to be the best. I love spending time with friends and family. I like challenges, accomplishing things people say i can't
.
