The most important game in the last round took place in Rethymno between third ranked AEK Athens (14-4) and eighth ranked AGOR (8-10) on Wednesday night. AEK Athens was defeated by AGOR in a tough game on the road 65-72. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of AEK Athens. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 43-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick (203-89, college: S.Florida) who led his team to a victory with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import point guard Gary Talton (185-90, college: Ill.-Chicago) contributed with 8 points and 5 assists for the winners. American-Georgian guard Michael Dixon (186-90, college: Memphis, agency: Diamond Sports) replied with 16 points for AEK Athens. AGOR moved-up to seventh place. AEK Athens at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. AGOR are looking forward to face Aiolos Trikallon (#10) on the road in the next round. AEK Athens will play against PAOK (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Olympiacos (17-1) which hosted in Athens 4th ranked Aris (10-8). First ranked Olympiacos managed to get a 14-point victory 69-55. The former international guard Evangelos Mantzaris (196-90) scored 11 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Erick Green chipped in 14 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Vladimir Jankovic (202-90, agency: Octagon Europe) with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olympiacos have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 17-1 record, which they share with Panathinaikos. Aris at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Kolossos HH and PAOK. Olympiacos will play against Apollon Patras (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Aris will play against Koroivos (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game between second ranked Panathinaikos (17-1) and 14th ranked Doxa Lefkadas (3-15) in Athens on Wednesday ended with biggest points difference. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Olympiacos. Doxa Lefkadas lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Kolossos HH made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Kolossos HH outrebounded Koroivos 40-25 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Serbian swingman Andreja Milutinovic (199-90) added 10 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kolossos HH moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Aris and PAOK. Loser Koroivos keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Promitheas - Apollon Patras 65-58

Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Promitheas (7-11) won against at home 12th ranked Apollon Patras (5-13) 65-58 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Apollon Patras won third quarter 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 23-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when PAOK made 7 blocks. American players dominated the game. Power forward Keith Clanton (205-90, college: Cent.Florida) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the effort and guard Jordan Sibert (193-92, college: Dayton) supported him with 21 points. PAOK moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Aris and Kolossos HH. Loser Lavrio dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Promitheas and Trikalla.
