There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with derby games and favorites losing the games.

Seventh-ranked Ethnikos (10-10) gave a tough game to second ranked Iraklis (17-3) in Piraeus on Saturday. The visitors from Thessaloniki managed to secure only one-point victory 70-69. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ethnikos. They outrebounded Ethnikos 44-25 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian Ronaldas Rutkauskas (203-92) who helped to win the game recording 8 points and 10 rebounds and guard Mihalis Giannakidis (192-88) who added 15 points during the contest. Iraklis' coach Vangelis Alexandris used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Center Kostas Macheras (205-85) responded with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Iraklis have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 17-3 record having just two points less than leader Panionios. Ethnikos at the other side keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with AE Larissas and Holargos. Iraklis are looking forward to face league's leader Panionios in Athens in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ethnikos will play on the road against AE Larissas (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A2 top team - Panionios (19-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Irakleio (4-15) in Athens 101-49. The winners were led by Bosnian-British center Fahro Alihodzic (208-89, college: UAB) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Petros Noeas supported him with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Panionios' coach Nikos Ekonomou felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 13 points and 8 rebounds by forward Dimitris Lolas (203-86) did not help to save the game for Irakleio. Panionios have an impressive six-game winning streak. Newly promoted Panionios maintains first position with 19-1 record. Irakleio lost third consecutive game. Irakleio at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifteenth place with 15 games lost. Panionios will play against league's second-placed Iraklis in Thessaloniki in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Irakleio will play at home against Psychiko (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Holargos was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Faros (14-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Holargos (10-10). Faros managed to secure a 9-point victory 87-78 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Holargos. The best player for the winners was Nikos Liakopoulos who scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Apostolos Koutroulias produced 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks for the hosts. Holargos' coach Memos Ioannou rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Faros have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 14-5 record. Loser Holargos dropped to the seventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with AE Larissas and Ethnikos. Faros will meet at home Arkadikos (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Holargos will play against Amyntas Dafnis (#10) in Athens and hope to secure a win.
A very interesting game took place in Athens. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 13th ranked Kavala (5-14) to twelfth ranked Amyntas Dafnis (8-12) 61-59 on Saturday evening. Leonidas Zoupas orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Amyntas Dafnis moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Doxa Pefkon. Kavala lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Amyntas Dafnis' next round opponent will be higher ranked Holargos (#7) at home and it may be quite challenging game. Kavala will play against Pagrati (#16) and hope to win that game.
An interesting game took place in Larissas where higher ranked Doxa Pefkon (8-12) was upset on the court of fifteenth ranked GS Larissas (5-15) 70-61 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Sotiris Gioulekas who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. GS Larissas moved-up to fourteenth place. Loser Doxa Pefkon keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. GS Larissas will face higher ranked Aiolos Astakou (#5) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 20: bottom-ranked Pagrati lost to Psychiko on the opponent's court 73-91. Doukas managed to outperform AE Larissas in a home game 82-67. Aiolos Astakou managed to beat Arkadikos on the road 73-66.
