There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with derby games and favorites losing the games.

Seventh-ranked Ethnikos (10-10) gave a tough game to second ranked Iraklis (17-3) in Piraeus on Saturday. The visitors from Thessaloniki managed to secure only one-point victory 70-69. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ethnikos. They outrebounded Ethnikos 44-25 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian Ronaldas Rutkauskas (203-92) who helped to win the game recording 8 points and 10 rebounds and guard Mihalis Giannakidis (192-88) who added 15 points during the contest. Iraklis' coach Vangelis Alexandris used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Center Kostas Macheras (205-85) responded with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Iraklis have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 17-3 record having just two points less than leader Panionios. Ethnikos at the other side keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with AE Larissas and Holargos. Iraklis are looking forward to face league's leader Panionios in Athens in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ethnikos will play on the road against AE Larissas (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A2 top team - Panionios (19-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Irakleio (4-15) in Athens 101-49. The winners were led by Bosnian-British center Fahro Alihodzic (208-89, college: UAB) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Petros Noeas supported him with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Panionios' coach Nikos Ekonomou felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 13 points and 8 rebounds by forward Dimitris Lolas (203-86) did not help to save the game for Irakleio. Panionios have an impressive six-game winning streak. Newly promoted Panionios maintains first position with 19-1 record. Irakleio lost third consecutive game. Irakleio at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifteenth place with 15 games lost.
