Trevor Releford claims Greek A1 weekly honour - Mar 6, 2017

Trevor
Releford
American Trevor Releford (183-PG-91) had a very impressive game in the last round for Kolossos HH and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 20.
The 25-year old playmaker had the game-high 21 points adding five rebounds and five assists for Kolossos HH in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Doxa Lefkadas (#14, 3-17) 62-61. Kolossos HH maintains the 6th position in Greek A1. Kolossos HH is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 11-9 record. In the team's last game Releford had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Kolossos HH and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Trevor Releford averages this season 12.6ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 26-year old American Keith Clanton (205-C/F-90) of PAOK. Clanton impressed basketball fans with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course PAOK cruised to a 97-86 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Trikalla (#9, 8-12). PAOK's 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 11-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Clanton is a newcomer at PAOK and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Toddrick Gotcher (193-SG-93) of Koroivos (#10). Gotcher scored 26 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was a key player of Koroivos, leading his team to a 71-67 win against the lower-ranked Apollon Patras (#13, 5-15). The chances of Koroivos not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 13 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Gotcher could try to bring Koroivos' a little bit higher in the standings. Gotcher has individually a great season in Greece. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.2ppg (8th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Kelsey Barlow (196-G-91) of Trikalla - 25 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-C-84) of AEK Athens - 15 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Gilvydas Biruta (203-PF-91) of Trikalla - 19 points and 7 rebounds
7. Steven Burtt (189-G-84) of Apollon Patras - 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Kostas Vasiliadis (200-G/F-84) of AEK Athens - 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Stavros Toutziarakis (210-C-87) of Kymis - 19 points and 6 rebounds
10. Zanis Peiners (203-F/G-90) of PAOK - 19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Gaios Skordilis claims Greek A2 weekly honour - 3 days ago
Gaios Skordilis (207-C-87, agency: Diamond Sports) put on an amazing game in the last round for Faros and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com A2 Player of the Week award for round 27. The 29-year old center had a double-double of 27 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team outclassed Pagrati (#16, 2-25) with 61-point margin 164-103. Faros maintains the 4th position in Greek A2. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Faros will need mor...   [read more]
