   #1. This week's number one is an international center Giorgos Bogris (210-89, currently plays in Spain). He led CB Canarias to a victory against the closely-ranked Real Madrid (15-6) 75-64 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Saturday night's game. Bogris scored 14 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 22 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Iberostar Tenerife CB Canarias (17-5) is placed first in the Liga Endesa. This year Bogris averages: 7.4ppg, 3.9rpg, 2FGP: 55.5%(76-137) and FT: 55.6% in 22 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Greek senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo (211-94, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in NBA). Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee Bucks to a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers (22-41) 112-98 in the NBA last Monday. He was MVP of the game. Antetokounmpo scored 24 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, passed 5 assists and added 3 blocks. The Milwaukee Bucks have 29-33 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Antetokounmpo's fourth year with the team. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Antetokounmpo averages: 23.2ppg, 8.7rpg, 5.4apg, 1.9bpg, 1.7spg, 2FGP: 57.6%(469-814), 3FGP: 27.9% and FT: 78.7%. He has a dual citizenship: Greek and Nigerian. Antetokounmpo is in the roster of the Greek senior national team.

   #3. The Greek player who performed third best last week abroad was former international power forward Ian Vougioukas (212-85, college: St.Louis, currently plays in EuroCup). He was the major contributor in Lokomotiv's victory against the closely-ranked Zenit (3-3) crushing them 75-52 in the Eurocup on Tuesday night. Vougioukas recorded 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in a mere 18 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Lokomotiv Kuban (5-1) is placed first in the Eurocup. This year Vougioukas' overall stats are: 9.1ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.6apg, 2FGP: 57.3%(55-96) and FT: 71.4% in 16 games. Former Olympiacos S.F.P. Pireus starter played for the Greek national team three years ago.

   #4. An experienced guard Nikolaos Zisis (197-83, also represented by Octagon Europe, currently plays in Euroleague). He could not help Brose Baskets (8-16) to beat Crvena Zvezda (14-10). Zisis was the second best scorer with 9 points. He also added 4 rebounds. But Brose Baskets was defeated 74-60 on the road by the higher-ranked Crvena Zvezda (#6). It was Brose Baskets' third consecutive loss in a row. Zisis' total stats this season are: 7.6ppg, 2.0rpg and 4.4apg. He used to play for the Greek national team back in 2015.

   #5. International center Kostas Koufos (213-89, college: Ohio St., currently plays in NBA) was not able to help the Sacramento Kings (25-38) in their last game. Despite Koufos' good performance the Sacramento Kings (25-38) lost 96-108 in Denver to the Nuggets. He had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 10 rebounds in 24 minutes. It was Kings' fifth consecutive loss in a row. This year Koufos' total stats are: 6.3ppg and 5.7rpg in 63 games. He is a naturalized American. Koufos plays currently for the Greek national team. Strangely he has never played in Greece.

   #6. Power forward Fotios Lampropoulos (206-83, currently plays in Argentina) was not able to secure a victory for Boca Juniors (11-28) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Lampropoulos' very good performance the tenth-placed Boca Juniors (11-28) was edged 102-100 in Mar del Plata by the higher-ranked Quilmes MP (#6) in the Sur group. He recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 10 rebounds. It's Lampropoulos' first season with the team. This year Lampropoulos has very high stats. He averages: 15.7ppg, 8.7rpg and 1.9apg. Lampropoulos is a former U18 international player as he played for the Greek team fourteen years ago.

Former international swingman Michael Bramos (196-87, college: Miami, OH, currently plays in Italy) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams VL Pesaro (7-14) crushing them 85-61 in the Italian Serie A in Sunday night's game. He scored 8 points in 25 minutes. Umana Reyer Venezia (13-8) is placed second in the Serie A. They ended the series of four consecutive loses. Bramos has averaged so far 10.0ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.4apg in 21 games. He is a naturalized American. Bramos used to play for the Greek national team four years ago. Apparently he has never played in Greece.

Small forward Stratos Perperoglou (203-84, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a 3-point FC Barcelona's victory against the 15th-ranked UCAM Murcia (7-15) 73-70 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Sunday night. Perperoglou scored 6 points in 19 minutes. FC Barcelona Lassa (15-6) is placed fourth in the Liga Endesa. Perperoglou has averaged so far 6.9ppg and 3.1rpg in 15 games. He plays currently for the Greek national team.

Katsivelis has averaged so far 8.0ppg, 3.6rpg, 5.3apg and 1.4spg in 16 games. He is a former international player as four years ago he still played for the Greek senior national team.

Former U20 international small forward Leonidas Kaselakis (202-90, currently plays in VTB United League) is a teammate of previously mentioned Dimitrios Katsivelis and both played together in the last VTB United League game. Kaselakis contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Parma 88-73. He scored 11 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Kaselakis has averaged so far 7.0ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.3apg. He used to play for the Greek U20 national team seven years ago.

   #12. Former U18 international center Ioannis Dimakopoulos (218-94, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to Cal-Irvine's victory against the University of California, Riverside 68-56 in the NCAA on Wednesday night. Dimakopoulos recorded 19 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 29 minutes. Dimakopoulos has relatively good stats this year: 11.4ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.2apg in 31 games. He used to play for the Greek U18 national team back in 2012.

   #13. Former U19 international forward Konstantinos Mitoglou (208-96, currently studies in the States) contributed to a Wake Forest's surprising victory against the University of Louisville 88-81 in the NCAA in Wednesday night's game. Mitoglou recorded 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Mitoglou has averaged so far 9.0ppg and 6.0rpg. He used to play for the Greek U19 national team two years ago.

   #14. Former U18 international guard Antonis Pefanis (198-97, currently plays in NCAA2) couldn't help the Florida Institute of Technology (7-11) in their last game. Despite Pefanis' good performance the Florida Institute of Technology was edged 87-84 in Miami Shores by the Barry University. He scored 14 points in a mere 19 minutes. This year Pefanis averages only 4.6ppg in 20 games. He used to play for the Greek U18 national team back in 2015.

   #15. International shooting guard Tyler Dorsey (193-96, is currently at the American university) managed to help University of Oregon in a victory against the Oregon State University crushing them 80-59 in the NCAA last Saturday. He recorded only one point in 20 minutes. This year Dorsey has relatively solid stats: 12.4ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.8apg in 31 games. He is a naturalized American. Dorsey is also in the roster of the Greek national team. Interesting that he has never played in Greece.


The list of other players, who all have Greek passport but never been selected to any of Greek national teams:

   #1. Zach Auguste (208-C-93, agency: Pensack Sports, college: Notre Dame, currently plays in FIBA Europe Cup) was the major contributor in a 3-point Usak Sportlif's victory against the closely-ranked JSF Nanterre (4-2) 85-82 in the FIBA Europe Cup last Tuesday. Auguste recorded 18 points; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. Muratbey Usak Sportlif Basketbolis placed third in group Q. Auguste has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 19.0ppg and 8.0rpg. Auguste is a naturalized American. Interesting that he has never played in Greece.

   #2. Nazareth Mitrou-Long (193-G-93, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Iowa St. (7-5) in their last game. Despite Mitrou-Long's very good performance the Iowa St. lost 76-87 at home to the West Virginia University. He scored 22 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 36 minutes. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Mitrou-Long is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Iowa St.'s roster. Mitrou-Long has very impressive stats this season: 16.0ppg, 4.7rpg, 2.8apg and 1.2spg in 30 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Greek and Canadian. Despite Mitrou-Long's Greek passport, he previously played for the Canadian U19 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Greek team.

   #3. Experienced Aristides Koronides (188-PG-82, currently plays in Cyprus) was not able to help Apollon (7-8) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Koronides' very good performance Apollon was defeated 96-83 on their home court in Limassol by the one of league's weakest teams Etha (#5). He recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and making 10 passes. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Koronides has averaged so far 6.1ppg, 2.2rpg and 4.0apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Greek and Cypriot.

   #4. Patrick Calathes (207-F-85, college: St.Joseph's, currently plays in Italy) managed to help Acqua Vitasnella Cantu in a victory against the seventh-ranked Grissin Bon RE (11-10) 98-83 in the Italian Serie A last Monday. Calathes scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 22 minutes. Acqua Vitasnella Cantu (8-13) is placed 13th in the Serie A. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. This year Calathes has relatively solid stats: 10.7ppg and 7.0rpg in seven games. He is a naturalized American. Calathes used to play for Costa Cafe Marousi in Greek league.

   #5. Georgios Angelou (185-G-94, currently studies in the States) led St.Francis, PA to an easy victory against the Bryant University (9-6) crushing them 100-78 in the NCAA on Wednesday night. He recorded 13 points. The St.Francis University (PA) has a solid 10-6 conference record this season. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Angelou is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in St.Francis, PA's roster. Angelou has averaged so far 8.1ppg, 1.4rpg and 2.0apg.

   #6. Maximiliano Sole (198-F-88, agency: Duran International, currently plays in Spain) led Real Madrid II to a victory over the fifth-ranked Azuqueca 64-60 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) in Saturday night's game. He was the best player in that game. Sole recorded 16 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in a mere 18 minutes. This year he has relatively solid stats: 11.7ppg, 8.4rpg, 2.6apg and 1.7spg in 22 games. Sole has both Uruguayan and Greek nationalities.

   #7. Dimitris Agathangelidis (182-G-98, currently plays in Sweden) was not able to secure a victory for Talje Knights (3-10) in their last game on Sunday.    #9. Kosta Karamatskos (194-G-86, currently plays in Germany) couldn't help Itzehoe (10-12) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Karamatskos' good performance Itzehoe (#8) was defeated 84-80 on their home court in Itzehoe by the higher-ranked SC Rist Wedel (#7) in the North group. He was the second best scorer with 13 points. Karamatskos also added 4 rebounds and 6 assists. He has averaged so far 5.3ppg, 2.9rpg and 3.8apg. Karamatskos has Greek and German nationalities. Despite his Greek passport, Karamatskos previously played for the German U20 national team and probably cannot be called to the Greek team.

   #10. Theodor Aliferis (183-G-88, currently plays in Norway) couldn't help Persbraten (2-25) in their last game. Despite his good performance the bottom-ranked Persbraten was badly defeated 98-79 in Bekkestua by the second-ranked Baerum Basket. Aliferis scored 10 points in 22 minutes. He has averaged so far 8.7ppg, 2.6rpg and 2.2apg in 25 games. Aliferis has dual citizenship: Greek and Norwegian. Despite his Greek passport, Aliferis previously played for the Norwegian U20 national team.
