Giorgos
Ballis
The games are now more important than at the beginning of the Regular Season. We may still expect few shocking results in upcoming 4 rounds.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Olympiacos as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Olympiacos defeated 9th ranked Aiolos Trikallon in Athens 79-61. The game was mostly controlled by Olympiacos. Aiolos Trikallon managed to win second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Aiolos Trikallon 48-25 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Giorgos Ballis (187-99) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian center Nikola Milutinov (212-94) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Ukrainian guard Oleksandr Lypovyy (200-91) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Olympiacos (21-1) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Panathinaikos. Aiolos Trikallon lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Lavrio. Aiolos Trikallon will play next round against Koroivos trying to get back on the winning streak. Olympiacos will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked AGOR in Rethymno.
Important game to mention about took place in Rodou. Sixth ranked Kolossos HH (12-10) saved a 1-point victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Aris (12-10) 85-84 in the game for the fourth place. The former international forward Panagiotis Vasilopoulos (202-84) notched a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Trevor Releford supported him with 11 points and 5 assists. Even 24 points and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) by American guard Will Cummings (188-92, college: Temple) did not help to save the game for Aris. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Kolossos HH moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Aris and PAOK. Kolossos HH will play against Apollon Patras (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aris will play against Kymis (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Doxa Lefkadas managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the eight-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time newly promoted Doxa Lefkadas won against thirteenth-ranked Apollon Patras 75-70. Alex Harris fired 21 points for the winners. Anthony Hickey produced 17 points for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Doxa Lefkadas maintains fourteenth position with 4-18 record. Apollon Patras lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 17 games lost. Doxa Lefkadas will meet higher ranked Lavrio (#9) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Apollon Patras will play against Kolossos HH (#6) and hope to secure a win.
The game in Patras was also worth to mention about. Seventh ranked AGOR (11-11) played at the court of 8th ranked Promitheas (9-13). AGOR managed to secure a 4-point victory 84-80. Worth to mention a great performance of Walter Lemon-Jr who helped to win the game recording 23 points. Promitheas' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. AGOR have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 11-11 record. Newly promoted Promitheas keeps the eighth place with 13 games lost. AGOR's next round opponent will be league's leader Olympiacos in Athens and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Promitheas will play on the road against PAOK (#5) in Thessaloniki and hope to win that game.
11th ranked Koroivos (7-15) was outscored at home by third ranked AEK Athens (17-5) with the biggest margin this round 89-63 on Saturday night. Loukas Mavrokefalidis scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AEK Athens maintains third position with 17-5 record having four points less than leader Olympiacos. Koroivos at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 15 games lost. AEK Athens' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Panathinaikos.

In the last two games of round 22 Lavrio was destroyed by Panathinaikos on the opponent's court 85-64. PAOK managed to outperform Kymis in a home game 88-71.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by McKenzie Moore of Promitheas.
