There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most shocking disappointment of round 23 was a home defeat of second-ranked Papagou (15-8) to fourth ranked Marousi (16-7) 72-61. It was a key game for the second position in South. Marousi moved-up to second place in South, which they share with Panerythraikos. Papagou at the other side dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with Koropi. Marousi is looking forward to face Tritonas S. (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Papagou's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Peristeri GS.
Sixth-ranked Ermis Lagkada (12-11) gave a tough game to third ranked Ermis Agias (17-6). Ermis Agias managed to secure only one-point victory 76-75. However their fans expected easier game. Ermis Agias have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Karditsas. Ermis Lagkada at the other side keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Anatolia and Stratoni. Ermis Agias will play against Anatolia (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Ermis Lagkada will play against the league's leader Kastoria and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Koropi (15-8) against sixth ranked Ionikos Nikaias (14-9) on Sunday night. Host Koropi was defeated by Ionikos Nikaias in 83-73. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Ionikos Nikaias. They maintain sixth place in South with 14-9 record. Loser Koropi dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with Papagou. Ionikos Nikaias will meet at home Mandraikos (#8) in the next round. Koropi will play against Ergotelis (#14) and hope to secure a win.
B League top team - Kastoria (22-1) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixteenth ranked Aias Evosmou (4-19) 72-64. The victory was the seventeenth consecutive win for Kastoria. They maintain first place in North with 22-1 record. Aias Evosmou lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixteenth position with 19 games lost. Kastoria's next round opponent will be Ermis Lagkada (#6) in Lagadas which should be theoretically an easy game. Aias Evosmou will play at home against Periko/Arhelaos (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
B League top team - Peristeri GS (19-4) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Zografou (10-13) 78-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zografou. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Peristeri GS. They maintain first place in South with 19-4 record. Newly promoted Zografou keeps the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Peristeri GS's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Papagou.

Stratoni - Polygirou 83-79

Very predictable result when eighth ranked Stratoni (12-11) defeated at home 14th ranked Polygirou (7-16) 83-79 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Tritonas S. - Ergotelis 77-73

Very expected game when 14th ranked Ergotelis (7-16) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Tritonas S. (11-12) 77-73 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Tritonas S. moved-up to ninth place in South, which they share with Nea Kifisia. Ergotelis lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. Tritonas S. will face higher ranked Marousi (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Apollon Sm. - KAP 67-75

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Smyrnis where 15th ranked Apollon Sm. (4-19) was defeated by sixteenth ranked KAP (3-20) 75-67 on Sunday. Newly promoted KAP maintains sixteenth place in South with 3-20 record. Apollon Sm. lost their eleventh game in a row.
