We bring you last week's top performances from Greeks who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Stratos Perperoglou
Stratos Perperoglou
#1. This week's number one is an experienced international small forward Stratos Perperoglou (203-84, currently plays in Spain). He was the major contributor in a FC Barcelona's victory against one of league's weakest teams Joventut (7-17) crushing them 76-56 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Sunday night's game. Perperoglou recorded 19 points in 24 minutes on the court. FC Barcelona Lassa (16-7) is placed third in the Liga Endesa. This year Perperoglou averages: 8.1ppg, 2.9rpg, 2FGP: 57.4%(39-68), 3FGP: 27.5% and FT: 58.1% in 17 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Greek senior national team.

Giannis Antetokounmpo
Giannis Antetokounmpo
#2. Second place goes to an international swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo (211-94, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in NBA). Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee Bucks to a victory against the Los Angeles Lakers (20-51) 107-103 in the NBA last Friday. He recorded 26 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 5 assists and made 2 blocks. The Milwaukee Bucks have 35-35 record this season. It's Antetokounmpo's fourth year with the team. Antetokounmpo has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 22.9ppg, 8.4rpg, 5.4apg, 1.9bpg, 1.7spg, 2FGP: 56.6%(524-926), 3FGP: 27.7% and FT: 78.3%. Antetokounmpo has a dual citizenship: Greek and Nigerian. He is in the roster of the Greek senior national team.

Nikolaos Zisis
Nikolaos Zisis
#3. The Greek player who performed third best last week abroad was former international guard Nikolaos Zisis (197-83, also represented by Octagon Europe, currently plays in Euroleague). Zisis could not help Brose Baskets (9-18) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Brose Baskets lost 78-83 on the road to the much higher-ranked (#4) Fenerbahce. Zisis was the second best scorer with 15 points. He also added 3 passes (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) in 22 minutes. There are only three games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Zisis' overall stats are: 7.6ppg, 1.9rpg, 4.2apg, 2FGP: 44.8%, 3FGP: 27.0% and FT: 94.5%(69-73) in 27 games. He played for the Greek national team two years ago.

Michael Bramos
Michael Bramos
#4. Swingman Michael Bramos (196-87, college: Miami, OH, currently plays in Italy) contributed to an easy victory against the ninth-ranked Auxilium TO (11-12) 89-70 in the Italian Serie A last Sunday. He scored 10 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 25 minutes. Umana Reyer Venezia (15-8) is placed second in the Serie A. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Bramos' total stats are: 9.8ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.5apg in 23 games. He is a naturalized American. Bramos used to play for the Greek national team back in 2013. Strangely he has never played in Greece.

Georgios Papagiannis
Georgios Papagiannis
#5. U20 international center Georgios Papagiannis (217-97, currently plays in NBA) was not able to help the Sacramento Kings (27-43) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Papagiannis' good performance the Sacramento Kings (27-43) were badly defeated 110-94 in Oklahoma City by the Thunder. He recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 11 rebounds. Papagiannis has averaged so far 2.7ppg and 3.1rpg. He plays currently for the Greek U20 national team.

Giorgos Bogris
Giorgos Bogris
#6. Center Giorgos Bogris (210-89, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for CB Canarias (18-6) in their game against Valencia Basket (5-18) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Bogris recorded 8 points in 21 minutes. The league leader CB Canarias was edged 65-62 in Valencia by the much lower-ranked (#13) Basket. They ended the series of three consecutive victories. Bogris has averaged so far 7.6ppg and 3.9rpg in 24 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Greek National Team roster.

Fotios Lampropoulos
Fotios Lampropoulos
#7. Former U18 international power forward Fotios Lampropoulos (206-83, currently plays in Argentina) led Boca Juniors to a victory over the sixth-ranked Quimsa (22-21) 98-92 in the Argentinian LigaA last Saturday. Lampropoulos was MVP of the game. He scored 24 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Aerochaco Boca Juniors Capital Feder (13-29) is placed tenth in Sur group. This season Lampropoulos has very high stats. He averages: 15.9ppg, 8.7rpg and 1.8apg. Lampropoulos used to play for the Greek U18 national team fourteen years ago.

Kostas Koufos
Kostas Koufos
#8. Center Kostas Koufos (213-89, college: Ohio St., currently plays in NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Georgios Papagiannis. But that was another game of his team in NBA which we would like to mention. Koufos contributed to a Sacramento Kings' victory against the Phoenix Suns (22-49) 107-101. He scored 13 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 20 minutes. The Sacramento Kings have 27-43 record this season. Koufos has averaged so far 6.6ppg and 5.8rpg in 69 games. He is a naturalized American. Koufos plays currently for the Greek national team. Apparently he has never played in Greece.

Tyler Dorsey
Tyler Dorsey
#9. International shooting guard Tyler Dorsey (193-96, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Oregon win their game against the Rhode Island University (13-5) 75-72 in the NCAA National Tournament Round 2 in Sunday night's game. Dorsey scored 27 points (!!!), had 5 boards, passed 3 assists and added 3 steals. The University of Oregon has quite an impressive 16-2 conference record this season. His team will play only one more game in the NCAA National Tournament Round 2. And now that game is very crucial. Dorsey has relatively good stats this season: 14.0ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.8apg. He is a naturalized American. Dorsey is also in the roster of the Greek national team. Interesting that he has never played in Greece.

Ian Vougioukas
Ian Vougioukas
#10. Power forward Ian Vougioukas (212-85, college: St.Louis, currently plays in EuroCup) couldn't help Lokomotiv (5-1) in their game against Unicaja Malaga (3-3) in the Eurocup. Vougioukas scored 6 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 17 minutes. The league leader Lokomotiv lost 63-74 in Malaga to the second-ranked Unicaja. It's Vougioukas' first season with the team. He has averaged so far 8.4ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.4apg in 18 games. Vougioukas is a former international player as three years ago he still played for the Greek senior national team.

#11. International forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo (199-92, currently plays in Spain) helped Andorra win their game against the 14th-ranked Zaragoza 100-92 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Saturday night's game. He recorded 6 points in only 6 minutes. Antetokounmpo has averaged so far 6.8ppg and 3.3rpg in 23 games. He plays currently for the Greek national team.

#12. Former U19 international forward Konstantinos Mitoglou (208-96, currently studies in the States) couldn't help the Wake Forest in their game against the Kansas State University in the NCAA National Tournament Round 1. He recorded 7 points. His team was defeated 95-88. Mitoglou has averaged so far 8.9ppg and 6.1rpg. He used to play for the Greek U19 national team back in 2015.

#13. Former U18 international center Ioannis Dimakopoulos (218-94, is currently at the American university) couldn't help the Cal-Irvine in their game against the Illinois State University in the NCAA National Tournament Round 1. Dimakopoulos recorded 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. His team was defeated 85-71. This season Dimakopoulos has relatively solid stats: 10.9ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.1apg. He used to play for the Greek U18 national team five years ago.

#14. Former U20 international small forward Leonidas Kaselakis (202-90, currently plays in VTB United League) couldn't help Astana in their game against VEF Riga in the VTB United League. Kaselakis cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 3 points in 28 minutes. His team lost 62-73. Kaselakis has averaged so far 6.8ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.3apg in 20 games. He used to play for the Greek U20 national team back in 2010.

#15. Former U18 international swingman Haris Plioukas (200-89, currently plays in Germany) helped Hagen BG win their game against the seventh-ranked Ibbenbueren 94-89 in the German Regionalliga (fourth division) on Saturday night. Plioukas recorded 8 points. Plioukas has reliable stats this season: 11.1ppg, 2.5rpg, 1.9apg and 1.2spg. He used to play for the Greek U18 national team ten years ago.

The list of other players, who all have Greek passport but never been selected to any of Greek national teams:

#1. Zach Auguste (208-C-93, agency: Pensack Sports, college: Notre Dame, currently plays in Turkey) was the major contributor in a Usak Sportlif's victory against the eighth-ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (11-11) 86-71 in the Turkish BSL in Sunday night's game. Auguste recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 19 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. Muratbey Usak Sportlif Basketbol (7-15) is placed 12th in the BSL. It's Auguste's first year with the team. Auguste has relatively good stats this season: 10.7ppg and 7.9rpg. He is a naturalized American. Strangely Auguste has never played in Greece.

#2. Patrick Calathes (207-F-85, college: St.Joseph's, currently plays in Italy) contributed to an AV Cantu's victory against the closely-ranked Enel Brindisi (11-12) 83-77 in the Italian Serie A on Sunday night. He scored 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Acqua Vitasnella Cantu (10-13) is placed 11th in the Serie A. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Calathes has averaged so far 9.6ppg, 6.2rpg and 1.1apg. He is a naturalized American. Calathes used to play for Costa Cafe Marousi in Greek league.

#3. Trian Iliadis (190-G-89, college: ODU, currently plays in Australia) led Wanneroo to a 3-point victory against the eighth-ranked Cougars (0-1) 104-101 in the Australian State League (second division) last Saturday. Iliadis scored 15 points and added 5 assists. It was his first game for Wanneroo this season. His team are placed fourth in SBL group. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Iliadis is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Wanneroo's roster. He has a dual citizenship: Greek and Australian. Despite Iliadis' Greek passport, he previously played for the Australian university national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Greek team.
